Peds if its any benefit, the emergency doc and follow up doc told me i had torn my meniscus last summer.
Went to the physio a day later and they laughed and said it was grade 1 mcl sprain...

I also had a surgeon tell me, after looking at the scans, that surgery wasn’t necessary, but long, slow rehab was.

I don't charge, I ski very steep, very exposed lines, very, very slowly.

Amen, they seemed sceptical from the moment I mentioned that I had jogged there from the car park because it was raining a little, and as they were manipulating my leg every which way asking "Does this hurt? How about now? Not even now?", they just didn't seem to believe it could be a full tear. This makes me optimistic. They both said that it was important not to get my hopes up because there really is no way of knowing without seeing the MRI, but the initial treatment over the next few weeks is the same whatever the damage is. So that's the focus now, a few weeks of strength training, then straight back into it.

Sounds similar to when I hyper extended MCL in 2015.

After the crash I stood up and knee collapsed.
Was convinced that I had ripped ligaments : knee felt unstable.
Need to get a ski-doo off the hill - felt pretty crushed and ready for 9-12 months out.

Couple of days later I was hobbling about and putting light weight on it.
Turned out to be a bad tear rather than a full rapture.
Though it took me about 3 months of physio to be be right again.
Good luck!

Fact you can put weight on it is a very good sign.
Though don't be surprised if it takes longer than a few weeks.
Ligaments take awhile....

Any euro mags have any info on March 24 skier fatality in Zermatt? American B. Johnson. I didn’t know him, but was co-worker of guy I’ve skied with. Don’t know if it was avy, or crash/accident related, or what. Details online seem scant.

No hidden couloir... in the topo photo, the end of the line is the end of the line, with only 500m of adventure. Not much in the way of height difference by some standards, but I don't think that really applies on this line. Similar to Andreas Fransson's line on Fitz Roy.

Well Tof Henry and Douds Charlet skied or boarded the north face of the Triolet a couple of days ago, first full descent on skis (Papy Millet skied it from half way up last year), and the second ever descent after it was done on snowboard 23 years ago by Dédé Rhem and Jérôme Ruby. I guess you could call that an adventure...

Definitely conditions ripe for adventure here for the last three weeks, for those who want it. It's a real shame I wasn't a part of it. There's been lots of great stuff done, and a few once-in-a-generation lines been skied. But the leg is, as far as I can tell, absolutely fine, and I'm positive that the MRI I have booked on Monday will confirm that. I got a second opinion from another doctor and he thinks it's just an inflamed miniscus. I'm trail running with a 10kg baby on my back, I'm on the exercise bike for over an hour a day... there's nothing wrong with it. Skiing very, very soon.
