With Kings Cross opening to Eurostar, these are the new and revised travel times.
Lyon in under five hours? Has this always been the claim? Even so, this can only be a good thing for London mags. Not around much these days.

Engelberg today...
... and still coming down.
Lifts are closed for maintenance on the Titlis until Nov 23. Mr Z went touring on Monday and there was knee-deep snow up at Trubsee (and that was before this storm )
The Brunni could possibly open after this weekend.

I'll be in SW Germany on business 8-17 of December. Need some help convincing myself I'd be a fool not to find an opportunity to ski. Last time I brought all my gear and on two consecutive weekends the fates were aligned against me.

I just got back after 3 days away.
Holy Shit Balls!!!
We got about 50cm outside my door.
Rumors in Leysin are this:
1) Mountain will open on Saturday;
2) Piste all the way down to the village is in good shape,
snow making and grooming have been done.
I know snow making is going on, because I heard it tonight.
Lots of snow out there.
I'm hiking up tomorrow to make some turns, look for pics.
Oh, and it is Beaujolais Nouveau tom/Thurs, so celebrate with 4CHF/bottle wine!Ski, Bike, Climb.
Resistence is futile.

Know what you mean Roo. I live in Portugal which is pretty much as far as you can get from the alps.
Get to go skiing for 1 week this year so keeping an eye on the weather and hoping it'll be a decent winter.

Roo 'fucking arse' doesn't quite cover it for me. I am slightly further away and it is totally shit in cunting massive proportions. does this add more gravitas to the situation?
