Crusty mank and a bit of windbuff in björkliden/northern sweden. And the viz is so good that you can almost see your skitips.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.

normal amount of winter accumulation in silvretta, ie 1-2 m more than the last couple of years. snow sucks thanks to wind.

dr. pup was wisely otherwise occupied, seeing as we got soaked despite blue skies with all the snow blowing into the damn hole.

    nice figl action!

herr stoiber, I sent you a PM. DAV trip that was supposed to go to MB Hütte canceled due to avalanche, visibility, etc. Weather does nto loog good there for a couple days or do you have some contrary info?? I just came back from a Grossglockner ski tour and wind was incredible yesterday.

^^^^Thought about it, but my new GoPro failed to work most of this season (90% of the time) unfortunately. I eventually got annoyed and stopped trying to use it.

too cool for gopro, now it's all about pseudo-complaining about conditions and terrain while at the same time implying own coreness

absolutely catastrophic snow and weather conditions this week. couldn't get any worse:

because downclimbing with crampons terrifies me, I chose to ski an obscure line through the Fineilspitze SE face, exposed above cliff bands and with a tight couloir, of which we weren't sure whether it would actually be skiable, as the only exit. it was. powderish even. here's the beginning of the line, off the peak.

Ok the pictures of herr_stoiber and patxi got me stoked. Contemplating of maybe trying to still get some skiing in the weekend of the 20th may.
What places would be our best bet for some half decent snow? Some lift acces (due to lazyness) is a plus. Judging from the slf-website, the Cenral Schweiz region seems to still hold some snow.
Obviously I'm willing to hike/tour my ass off at this time of the year!

Still full blown winter in northern norway and more snow coming this week...

Hey, will prolly start a own thread on this at some point, but who of the euromags are skiing this summer?

Planning come to the alps at the end of june for the traditional summerskiing and hang around for 3 weeks or so,touring and skiing higher stuff.
would be interested in the bernese oberland but will be dicking around the saas-cham-aosta area as well.
So, if anyone is up to skiing stuff (like ecrins, gran paradis, dom?) let me know.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.
