A message for Dexter, Blurred, and Natty Dread
All right, you turd-burglars. I was willing to put up with your plotical bitch and moans during the pre-election summertime blues, but let's face it- the Election is over, and even though the results are still causing me to puke, I've let it go. Plus, the lifts have begun to turn in the northern hemisphere, so keep it ski related. Or snowboard related. Hell, you can even post about monoskis and snowblades for all I care. Just end the political cock-measuring contest. And Mr Dread- quit posting controversial material in the main forum. Take it to the padded room, where it will be lost amongst AKPM's repeated request for advice on how to get laid.
And here's some 70's stoke, bitches and ho's:

Sorry, that came out wrong.
What I meant was, fuck off.

I think the our Feathered Felcher may be onto something.
Absolutely nothing against the dudes he pointed out because I'm as guilty as they are but why not put the non-ski stuff into the padded room. People put it here to be seen but with enough new material there, people will check it out nearly as frequently since many of our best threads are not skiing related. Just an idea..."All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."

How about a forum called "political rants, religious issues, and dick measuring"?
It would be nice for that stuff to have it's own place. I'm sure it would help keep the ski chatter board more about ski titilation. It's REALLY hard to bite your tongue on a lot of these issues. It would be nice to not see the threads at all unless you were looking for that stuff. IMHO
and also IMHO it's (political/whatever) the most needed forum other than ski chatter.

Take it to Epicski. Weak.
This is one thing I'm damn sure not debating, so either get a moderator in here or shut up.
edit: I guess a politics forum could be OK, but we all know that there are good reasons to post NSR things here. God knows most of the threads in ski/snowboard are threads I don't really care about, and some that I would dislike if I bothered reading them--but I DON'T. I learned long ago how to not read things I don't want to know about. The stupid shit other people post really doesn't matter to me.Last edited by Dexter Rutecki; 12-14-2004 at 09:41 PM.

I'd like a separate forum for theories on Boolean functions with generalized cryptographic properties. It seems valid.

It all started when Summit got his own forum.

It seems like people in the political threads do more "telling people what to do": "go vote", "take action here", "write your congressman", "be outraged".
If it makes sense for SKIING related technical issues to not be posted in SKIING chatter and it makes sense that SKIING related gear swap issues not be posted in SKIING chatter. Than it sure as shit makes sense that something not skiing related AT ALL be posted in it's own place. Sorry to break out the logic.

The logic would work IF it were consistent, but of course it's not, and no one should really want it to be. The eclecticism is part of the appeal--and sometimes drawback--to this place. Do I care what happens with Ingrid? Does every TR, especially those that are NSR, interest me? Do I need to read the 10,000th drunk post, which looks just like the first 9,999 drunk posts? No, but I'd never complain about people putting them up.
I just don't click on them, or worry about them. If I sit there and read something I don't want to, it's not the author's fault. It's mine.
This reminds me of people who complain about sex on TV--pretty simple solution: don't watch it.
Unless people are somehow tricking other maggots (thread titled 'Jackson Hole Stoke' that's actually about Rumsfeld) or forcing them to read stuff (Yes, I tied up mildbill and read to him from political threads for four hours) then there's no reason to complain. Or maybe if people are posting maliciously or just to be a nuisance (CWB). But if someone honestly believes something is important enough to go into the 'main' forum, I say let 'em at it. Even a thread like this one, which exists only to complain about other threads, is fine by me.
The day this place gets moderated and we've got a DChan moving 'inappropriate' threads to their proper place is the day I'm out of here. Look at Epic and see how boring it is. Personally, I don't see the main forum so overrun with political threads that we need a change (I can only think of two of them on the first two pages right now--it's not like we're swamped).[quote][//quote]

While we're at it, I need to get rid of that monkey who keeps making me smoke crack.
Seriously guys...if you don't like political threads...don't read them. Ignorance is bliss.
I'm on board for political threads going in the padded room. Then again...these threads from the main page should also be in the padded room. Who's ready to jump on their backs about it? The line starts at the door right behind me and Dex.
I feel like shit

I'm with Dexter, Iceman, and FNG on this one.
You don't like it, don't read it. Simple.
I like to be informed, whether I agree with what is stated or not(even if it is from Blurred, etc.). I don't want to have to go to another page to get my news.
BTW Il Eagle, this forum has never been about keeping it skiing related. That would suck.

so what. can i never mention death from above? or start a bukkake thread? because, well..... that stuff entertains my juvenile intelect.
can i never write about the hawk outside my window, who may be chugging a pigeon?
can i not start a thread with the soul purpose being to incite gonzo to tell a hilarious tail that i thought we all might enjoy? i mean, it was urban drunkness and hijack related, so i'm guessing no. which would be sad, because that was a really good story.
or, lets say i'm housesitting, and i find some sex toys and some weed in the home owners bedside table while looking for a bible. can i not post a wwmd thread? because if i cant do that, that would suck. because i need some ideas about how i should interact with Smokey McHorndog now that i know her "secret"
