London mags, beers on Sun 27th of Feb or possible some evening on week 9?

    So,

It seems that I'll be stuck in Swindon on a course for week 9. But I'll be flying in on Sun and would prefer to grab a pint or two in London before taking the train to Swindon.

And depending on the course schedule, I might even make it to London during the week.

It seems like my trains will depart/arrive in Paddington station, so would prefer something close by or easily reached with the tube.

Yeah, I should land around five on Sun @ Heathrow, and then take the Express to Paddington station. So, I'm guessing I'd be around something like seven or so.

    Beer? Did someone say beer?

I'm not going if Mulletizer's going. He doesn't like my cat.

(Just trying to stir up some London mag politics to make me feel I'm still on holiday )

You're confusing me with that depraved Canuckistani, Gincognito. He likes your cat too much. Or with my wife (who likes your cat, but is allergic to it). I like your cat (*desperately tries to hold off making filthy comment*)

Gincognito's actions with my cat were unmentionable.

Where is he these days, anyway?

Right, how about the Cleveland Arms? 28 Chilworth Street, W2 6DT. Short walk from the station but apparently a proper boozer.

I'll trust the local intel, and the location seems good fer me.

So, I'll be the small guy, lugging a wheeled Osprey cabin-bag behind me.

I can prolly dig me feeble deep enough to recognize Mrs Roo...

Yeah, give Mulletizer some shite for me about how Ingerlund woulda lost to the Frenchies if not for some marginal calls by the Irish ref... and that witless knock-on by Rougerie.

Plus, Chabal looked like he was playing with oven mitts on.

I don't know about France benefiting that much from the calls. We had one apparently perfectly good try disallowed... But I thought both teams deserved to lose on their first half performances; every instance of pressure inside their own halves resulted in penalties and points against. But England came out and played far better in all aspects during the second half. Some terrible individual performances from normally solid Frenchmen did indeed help.

    Looking forward to beers tonight.

Heh. Yeah, I'm just taking the piss - Ingerlund was pretty much the better team except for the end of the first half, where les Boohoos couldn't get into the try zone anyway. And while Ashton's swan dive certainly looked good, Flood's pass prolly was forward, tho' not by much.

Now if the Sheep-shaggers could learn how to tackle or the Paddies could learn the rules (hands in ruck, guys!?!?!?!) you might have some competition.

And congrats on that other impenetrable sport of yours. I fail to see how "one of the most thrilling matches Evaar" could end in a tie, but then again, I can't begin to understand the rules of a game that has built-in tea breaks.

Cheers and beers to everyone there. And good luck to Mrs. Roo's team in the Europa cup, tho' I favor Ajax.

The Flood pass was definitely forward. The supposed double-movement on Tindall's non-try was a bit more moot IMO.

We had fun beers last night.
