Food.

For this contest the entries are not limited to plated dishes of food. They can and should be anything having to do with food. Farms, restaurants, utensils, and of course raw ingredients and cooked dishes. Anything you could potentially eat or anything that makes you think food.

If cooked dishes show up, recipes may be required.

Make me hungry...

RULES:
1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
3. The contest moderator will choose 5 photos to be voted on.
4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

last night was my annual birthday chili cook off

This probably isn't contest-worthy, but it was taken yesterday and I had to share it. A bacon-wrapped, cheese-injected Bratwurst - In Austria! Now I've seen it all. If this were served in Germany, someone would beat the cook to death with their nordic walking sticks. I applaud Austria, and especially the Wildschonau region of Tyrol, and their willingness to cook outside of the bland-as-all-shit Germanic gastronomy box.

Unfortunately, I ordered the f'ing schnitzel, but did steal a few bites from my Frau.

This contest got me tossed out of Rancho Liborio today. I was driving down East Colfax looking for some environmental-type shots when I remembered this contest. Since I never enter these things, I thought I would walk around inside Rancho Liborio and see if anything caught my interest, because with the 35L I thought I might do something interesting with a razor-thin DoF. I took a test picture of some snacks, then wandered around. I immediately noticed 3 guys following me around but they would look away whenever I glanced at them. I decided to be as enigmatic as possible, just for laughs, and walked around in circles while they tailed me.

Anyway, after I got bored with that I headed over to the produce department to look for a shot and when I got ready to take a photo of some radishes the manager and the other dudes surrounded me and told me I couldn't take photos in their store.

So, I got nothing. Well, except for this shot of cheese doodles I used to set my manual settings. . . .

Darn, Japan had a lot of great options for this one. Too bad for me.

#1: Anyone who knows Boston's North End is probably salivating just seeing the street sign. If you like Italian food and come to Boston, you have to visit this street. So a little play on the food topic but all I can think of is food when someone says Hanover St.

#1: Anyone who knows Boston's North End is probably salivating just seeing the street sign. If you like Italian food and come to Boston, you have to visit this street. So a little play on the food topic but all I can think of is food when someone says Hanover St.

Thanks for this. I love Boston and particularly wandering the North End looking for good food... There's a pizza joint, Ernesto's Pizza, on Salem St where the Italian owner will sit outside and gawk/flirt with all the girls and generally just be a crude old man - fairly entertaining to watch and eat some good pizza. The traditional Italian food is stellar, but there also used to be a sweet raw vegan place called Grezzo that made some amazingly tasty food (and although I am veggie, I don't usually dig the raw scene; it really was ridiculously good). The pastry shops are killer too, Mike's, Modern, etc. So good.

The above is a pastrami and cheese. The below photo is a kielbasa and cheese, pic taken by Kidwoo, sandwich made (and held) by me.



What you can't see above the letters on my chest are the tears of dejected loserdom.

The farts started around midnight and just stopped about two hours ago.


I can order "pastrami or keilbasa with cheese" anywhere and it doesn't come with fries, coleslaw and tater salad. There's gotta be a better name for that.

I ended up making this MPC shorter than normal. Not sure what I was thinking. I was however hoping to get a new one up by this weekend. Let's go one more day and start voting Wed-Fri. That sound good?
