So after a bunch of car problems this year, my house is down to 0 working cars. And now the bus has stopped running. Is anyone interested in picking up me and one roommate on the way up? We're in sugarhouse and are willing to pay for gas/beer mostly skiing on weekends and tues/thurs. Send a PM if you want to help us out for some $$.

All posted I found, is that the road will close at 6AM.

The Bird today was fun, another 9" to 16" inches expected overnight with another 2" to 4" for tomorrow in the forecast. Highway 210 is closing at midnight, no estimate on opening tomorrow.

The 'Bird did NOT suck today. Just when I thought my legs were shot they opened Road to Provo for a couple more hours of cornice hucks. Mineral was 95% awesome, then random patches of ice that looked like pow and nearly sent me skittering on my face. Still bummed about Gad 2 being closed and no access into Tiger Tail/Thunder Bowl though

Anyone in the know have any insight as to the possibility of the bird opening something other than GadZoom on Sat 11/19? Seems like they could open somehting else...maybe reg only from the top if they tried. Especially if it snows from 5pm to 4am then they run the cat over it.

i don't think they blew any snow on reg because the tram is closed (neither will open). peruvian may open next week. they're not going to take chances opening anything near exposed terrain that hasn't been controlled yet.

Vibes to the many who were injured today at the Bird. Keep everything in check people, it is still very early in the season.

I hope the man who hit that rock right below zoom around 10:30 or so is alright. That was heavy, sobering stuff.

In other news, I love skiing.

It was crazy what people were trying to ski today. I already got the first x-rays of the season today. Took a hard forward twisting fall and heard something pop in my ankle. Doc thinks its ok but wants a second opinion from a radiologist. I hope it is a sprain and not a chipped ankle bone.

I cant believe that fella was trying to send double drop today. Someone had hit it earlier and looks like they stuck it. That was one seriously scary rock in the run out that he hit. Looks like he was in quite a bit of agony when we went over him in the chair.

    Be safe out there.

one of my buddies hit that rock as a single yesterday. when i asked him how he felt about it after that kid broke himself off, he appropriately said "stupid". we probably need close to 10 more feet before anything like that is worth risking, be careful.

I smoked a rock so hard today on wildcat that I sprained my ankle right through my ski boot, should be ok with some time off.

sad thing is I knew I was taking too much risk, but god damn was it good!

    be careful out there.

You were goin HARD... glad you were able to ski it out. Learned my lesson the two times I tried to hit what appeared to be pillows, but had hidden teeth that just dumped me on my ass. Taking that boot off couldn't have been fun. Rest up and let's get after er again in a couple weeks.

Thanks guys. getting the boot off wasn't bad, swelling was minimal at that time and there doesn't seem to be any real structural damage, I't's weight bearing with good range of motion. I'm probably just a fucking pussy.

Nate, beers for sure sometime soon. I was dying for a cotton bottom garlic burger and/or Lonestar today but figured I should get going with the RICE.

    stay safe out there
