Super fun to watch. Love it.

I wonder how many more viewers they get when the finals are on a weekday when hacks like us are at work and watching the comp ( ) instead of out skiing on the weekend.

Well when you put it that it's tough to say. For me I'd say her run today was not quite as good as her run yesterday but even if it was only a 33 point run, she'd still be in the top spot.

Nice work for Daiek and all the cali boys, that's gotta feel pretty fuckin good! So bummed for Dylan, he was lookin real good until he tagged that rock. The 'crack finish line reporter' noted a big core shot in one of his skis. It's one thing to lightly scrub a rock on takeoff but taking that kind of damage will really hang you up. Too bad, anyway, great comp with lots of surprises, and some, not so much.

Anyone think the day one venue was better? Seemed like more options to me. I guess running all 100+ skiers through today's venue wouldn't have worked very well though. Would have liked to see more variation up top but I wasn't up there looking down on that shit...

Looking forward to Snowbird, gonna be great spectating as always.

Quick question, why did Josh D not have to cross the finish line? I know it is a silly rule to have a 20 foot finish area, but do they just ignore that rule these days? Was an awesome run, but just curious on the finish thing. In the tele comps I did, no finish line, no score... period.

You didn't miss much. Some great skiing but it was exclusively in the lookers right-hour glass portion of The Cirque. Pretty tame; not much variety to the lines.

After seeing what Mathiu Imbert and Drew Tabke did on the skiers left, i was really surprised no body else went over there. Especially some of the later competitors, who could have found some fresh landings.

today's venue has always been the day 1 venue. not sure why they changed it, but one would certainly expect more injuries sending the group to the more technical side prior to making a cut. i was also surprised to see many athletes just skip the lower section today.

    From Ryan's Facebook page

Hello all friends and well-wishers. An ever expanding group of us if hanging out in Reno with Ryan after his accident in the Kirkwood FWT competition. We are going to do our best to keep updates coming on Ryan's condition, it is a bit scary right now so be prepared. Currently Ryan is in the ICU at Renown Health Center. Medical staff h...as Ryan in an induced coma to keep him comfortable while he stabilizes. Though he is in rough shape right now he HAS improved since last night. Interventions to stop the bleeding around his pelvis were successful and his body temperature is back to normal levels. He has more healing to do before he is stable but he is in an excellent hands in an excellent hospital. His condition is very much hour-by-hour right now, keep Ryan in your thoughts, We'll keep you updated, and make sure Ryan sees your wishes. Thank you all.

Damn, sad to hear it's that bad. He's young and strong though so he's got the best chance for a complete recovery.

    Hang in there buddy!

Thanks to this forum I just discovered this unbelievable competition. This is the most bad ass thing I have ever seen. Keep up the great work everyone involved.

I hope Ryan Hawk heal fully. It sounds like he has a good group of dudes at his side. Vibes to all.
Keep your tips up and always remember to unhook your pack from the chair...

Oh of course, the REAL info. Cuz god knows actually putting it up on the website with the name of your event is just giving it away.

I just heard from my brother who grew up skiing with him in Vermont, still is a close friend that he passed away last night, lost too much blood. I've known Hawks since he was 13 or 14 years old, he was a skier that so full of life, in every aspect. I'll miss him.

Great entertainment, but .... too many skiers - I want to see the best skiers ripping the best lines, not taking their chances on skied out crap , and the usual nonsense with judging, most glaringly both Daieke's runs were (IMHO) overscored. Sure it's a fairytale ending with the unknown local boy taking it, but he meandered between straightforward hucks on his first run, then got lost and took the gaper line on his second ...... guys like Prevost, Chicheret and O'Meara should be pissed.
