There was a whole group of little kids on tele gear at Ajax last weekend who were part of the local ski club. They must have been like 10 years old, as they were tiny, but most of them ripped. That was pretty badass to see, plus, it doesn't take much snow for a 10 year old on tele gear to make it look DEEP.

I've also noticed that I've never seen a couple skiing together where someone alpines and the other person teles. I guess tele skiers only fuck other tele skiers? Or is that a fellow tele skier is the only kind of person who can stand the smell of your ass after you've tele'd all day?

One of the boys came down and said I needed to try them, grabbed some rental boots and locked down, two runs later, I came down and got fitted for new Nordica’s, haven’t made a tele turn since that day.

    You suck.

    K2 four? Seriously?

I was slaying the gnar on Tuas and riva loops. And I still tele for fun. Way better than your dreams.
And with NTN and modern skis, it’s even more fun.

    Take a tele lap

No seriously. If you claim to be a tele guru, but haven’t dropped a knee since the k2 four, you suck.

With a left knee that only bends to ~90°, my tele days are dun. I'll always miss it dammit
And yes, we did drop in from the top. Ramp on lookers left

ID:	368554(notice the rusty delams under base) can be a dangerous situation when moisture gets under then freezes. Brother and I came smokin' off a slope into a short low angle section where, just to fuck around, whip off some Stein Erickson wiggle turns high speed and make sharp right along creek bed that's around 6' tall. One ski stuck and I went headfirst into opposing creek bed upside down and knee bent laterally over the crest of the creek bed. Lateral hyperextension. Not only hurt my knee, but I body checked that creek bed hard. Right in front of two gapers. I was too embarrassed to admit I was hurt in front of the gapers, so I got up, said you're welcome(guaranteed those two still say "remember that time in Honeycomb Canyon.....") and skied off.

Damn. Out of curiosity Tuco, were you a bird tram rider on tele gear around 08-12?

Cool pics CS, was just talking recently about when pics were all hosted on Biglines.

I was! Started tele in 2004 after realizing I was handicapped on the snowboard I moved out here with. Been a dedicated 22 designs skier since day 1.

Rode the bird 00-04 then AltaBird till ‘12 then bought a cabin in Brighton and been full-time big cottonwood ever since.

I miss skiing LCC terrain and my dear posse over there but we have great skiing over here in “the people’s canyon”. Booyah

I don’t think I consciously recall seeing any telemark skiers all year here in my area of Colorado.

I play a game with my fellow tele skiers on a resort day. I’ll silently tally the number of other tele skiers I’ve seen in lift line or on the slopes, then ask my crew how many they’ve seen that day. Generally they’ve only noticed one or two, while I’ve seen a dozen or more. I’m referring here to resorts that aren’t tele meccas like Alta.

No idea why I seem to notice tele skiers at a distance. Maybe it’s my sense of smell.
