And yet until the end all the vid of the boots is blurred.

    Everyone's a critic.

Today I'm just a fanboy. Scarpa put money into marketing a boot that will work for a lot of tele skiers, after putting money into producing it. Yay Scarpa!

I think it will work for me and I'm excited! Though probably won't be a first year purchaser

Has anyone seen this happen with BMFs? Not the toe lug damage, that seems to be from Outlaws, but the indents in the toe cap. Happening on both boots. Not super concerned but since I'm not exactly a wicked low and gnarly tele skier trying to figure out how I'm causing this

    You're doing it wrong?

Frickin' free heel and one ski suddenly stopping in dirt. Petey went boom. The joys of end of season eh. Not!

Yes. Until last week I’ve only skied BMF’s with my TX Comps and they’ve both wrecked my toe lugs and affected the boot toe cap, which is from the boot toe hitting the BMF toe cage mid-turn when I’ve dropped a knee. In fact I keep breaking toe cages because of it - 3 broken cages in two seasons. Check to see if the top of the toe cage is bowed/concave - having just gotten two new warranty toe cages in the mail this week, they should be straight.

Last week in the backcountry west of Sun Valley did not disappoint.

Looks great, similar conditions early week in the Cascades. Been a good time for sure!

My cages look straight enough, maybe bowing up a little bit. Throwing them in the binding on the bench looks like I'm flexing more than I thought, I'll keep an eye on things and hope they don't explode. Good warning on this.

Tricky boot to test, me thinks, when the liners need to be customize and the boots (probably?) need to be broken in a bit to understand their downhill capabilities.

Posted in GS but if anybody in here has gear they're looking to offload either temporarily or permanently let me know. I'm trying to put something together to use at the AJ in CB in a couple weeks. Last time I had tele gear I was a 26.5/27 in T1s. Not actually trying to win the thing, so cheap and available are top priorities.

I can hook you up if you can get them there and back from vail in a week or so. Many stupid ski choices as well.
These would be my current boots but I smooshed my foot when a jack landed on it last week and took a good major chunk of my ambulatory functionality away.
Mavens, llasahs, explosivs, death wish, and the antique bag. Lmk. 26.5.
I suggest the Mavens or the kazamas.

True, but the sooner you start the sooner we get to the actual performance reality. There's 36+ pages of blather over on Backcountrytalk without a foot being placed in the boot, let alone in a binding on snow.

I have some 26.5/27 T1 shells (3-buckle black/gray edition) without liners. Cover shipping and they're yours.

Also (to others) - I have some smaller 75mm Scarpa boots (with liners): 24.5/25 T2x, 23.5/24 women's T1 (4-buckle), 22.5/23 T3. Plus a 22 Designs Bombshell binding (women's version of the Hammerhead). Same deal, cover shipping (or meet me in North Tahoe) and I'll send them out. Need to purge but don't want to just throw this stuff away.

    Thanks, Mike
Hate to be Debbie Downer, but: as soon as you utter the word "swimming" you are fooked.

It's easier to make room than take up room, blah, blah is the bootfitting mantra, and it is very true. You can take up room if, say, your heel pocket needs to be a little tighter, etc. But if "swimming", you're in for a long and fruitless bootfitting effort. Nothing is going to make it right (ask me how I know).

Do the kid and yourself a favor and just start over.

Awesome offer thank you man. Think I have a line on boots. Can't get to Vail but my buddy from Edwards might come down. If he does maybe I could set him up to pick up/drop off a pair of skis. Low odds but will let you know.

    Telemark skiing is dead.

Anyone else see the Eric Fey Facebook post re Scarpa introducing an updated “red” Freeride binding for next year that has an earlier spring engagement/ ramp angle? Would be fun to see Scarpa/ Rotte up their binding game to match the new boots. Hoping it is not just the re-introduction of the red cartridge after a multi year hiatus.

Re-read the post. It’s red power tubes, not a new binding.

"Power Tubes"? This telemark thing sounds complicated.
