Gonna be mounting up a new 75mm rig in a few days here...just waiting on a new centering tool from slidewright
I got a 3d printed centering tool on gear swap and it's great. Rfconroy was the maker

Damn straight; had a couple of close call mounts recently using Jigarex. Switched to simply marking the drill points with the Jig and then using a Press to drill - best mount in too long. Should have made the switch years ago.

    Telemark skiing is dead.

So I’m going the route of brakes for my skis with the outlaw x’s. Thinking about doubling with a leash system for powder boards because of discomfort of skiing deep snow at the resort with a releaseble binding. Traditional tele leashes have never worked for me. What are other alternatives/systems? Voile straps?

Eta: I’ve yet to release from my Freedoms, but I haven’t had a big crash in them (I’m usually in uniform when using them).

Getting into my OutlawX's with the brakes is such a PITA I pulled them off, threw them in the bushes, and then threw a bunch of rocks at them... I then installed some 22 Designs coil leashes and all was good in the world.

I don't think there are any other solutions other than leashes. You might be able to get some longer cables if necessary or gang up two coil leashes together?

    Got any tips?
I found I had to step on the back of my ski to be able to get the boot into the front bale and compress the brakes well enough to get the binding to close and even then it would be an exercise in all of the swear words I know to get them to latch properly.

I removed the brakes and I can step in first time very time.

Shave the plastic on the inside of the brakes with a file and bend the brakes wider. I have a pair of 91 width skis, easy stepping in, my 101’s with the same brakes are a bit of a pain, but I get in with a hard stomp. Oh and yes I ski on brakes made for 100’s on 91’s and 101’s, but I don’t care.

Fingers crossed that the non-touring OutlawX shows up soon, with reliable brakes ..... maybe 70 ?
I really feel like I'm asking for trouble with a 80 brake on a 66 ski ..... but it's a heck of a lot better than the 95 Rottefella brake.

What are you skiing w a 66 waist? I feel like anything under 80 is a rarity these days for free skiing (not racing). I think the market for a sub 80 brake is pretty small…..
