Such a long drive. My size too.

I have T4s with Intuition Denalis. Love those boots.

We have some disconnects in our communication, probably because I ramble. What I was trying to say it that I want essentially an NTN T4 so i can use it with TTS and all its contemporaries like the Kreuzspitze telemark kit or any tech toe frankenbinding. I used the term "pin" to mean tech toe pins, not 3 pins.

I've been on NTN since almost the start. But dragging my 4-buckle boots out for a rolling tour around the lake is not gonna happen.

New, good problems. Anyone used one or more of this combo?

Fischer Ranger 94 FR. Found a good deal on them. Been wanting a mid width daily driver for tele. Also migrating away from Freerides and want to try something with a tech toe so I grabbed some Meidjo 3s.

Kinda bought the Rangers blind but reviews say they're medium stiff and playful for higher end skiers. I did read the Blister review and noted the flex pattern. I dunno if that's me but I'm heavier (6'1" 220lbs—all muscle and testicle except for the mid section) and one morning in winter 2009 I slayed some shit on alpine gear.

Now telemark...I'm ok. Definitely hold back a fair amount with the free heel and these days I just like to play in pow and soft snow. Tend to ski taller, not lower.

Blister guys said they liked the 94 FRs mounted forward of the recommended line a bit, so i was thinking of mounting these Meidjos ON the line rather than my standard -2cm.

Anyway I really like the color combo. Will I rip these fuckers out of the ski if I keep my knee off the deck? lemme know now before I punch 13 holes or whatever it is.

    Thanks.

^That sounds like a sweet setup. Pretty sure that ski has some metal in it right? My wife has some Hannibal 96's with A/T bindings, the construction is solid and I wouldn't hesitate to mount them telemark based on how solid the mount feels on them. I'd think the Ranger would have even burlier construction and make a bomber tele ski.

@BioSmear - don’t know jack about where to mount Meidjo on those skis, but Meidjo versions 2.1 and 3 were changed slightly to make sure they didn’t pull out. Some deep knee benders experienced pull out with version 1.2 and 2.0. I have 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0 and so far no pull outs, in fact I haven’t broken anything yet.

    Lol!

FWIW, I found mammoth mtn in the springtime a great place to learn to tele. Long corn runs were really conducive, for me, for learning. Also, having a shop in town with rentals was critical.

And mammoth has some good runs for learning to make steeps tele turns. I found out that I could tumbledown hangman’s after botching my first or second turn and go right through the funnel unscathed. I also learned quite a bit following (and observing) good tele skiers at the hill. Watching how they were able to haul ass and confidently ski down runs like climax and the chutes off ch23 helped me a lot.

Does anyone happen to have a spare forefoot buckle for a TX-Pro?

No, but I had a similar buckle break and I drilled a horizontal hole and used baling wire to replace that broken shaft as a temporary fix.

The fix has worked perfectly for 2 seasons, so I’m leaving as is

This week I have been telemarking a lot and now my big toe really hurts to the point where I had to go back to my alpine stuff.
When I bend the bellows it jams my foot forwards and my toe jams. My toenail really hurts.
Boots feel like they fit ok otherwise.
I researched and everything says to get boots that fit that's it...
    I <heart> hot tele-moms

    What boots, what bindings?

Normal shoe size and what’s the boot size?

What part of your toe hurts?
