Awesome pics. I can't say I've seen pics which convey the art of skiing pow as well as those two deep ones you posted. Lots of edits do this but the still shot is elusive. You def captured it!

Family and friends, people I like to ski with who are nice enough to pull up thier turns while I take a few images.
Glad you guys like the shots. It was a lot of fun taking images, even though it isn't my typical ski mountaineering fair. I'll give it this, when the weather and snow conditions aren't safe, it's a nice way to still get images and have fun/do work at the same time.

If this was the only kind of stoke posted on these boards then TGR would consist of probably five members: Grizzle6, Gunder, Otter, Truth and Unemployed.
While I absolutely enjoy these technically perfect pictures of untracked pow, I also like the tangible, common-folk, stoke pictures that many good maggots post on here. Especially the ones that tell a story with the sequence of the pictures.
However, I am not condoning the posting of blurry, flat, hardpack pictures. That combo sucks.

I agree. I see good stuff from all walks of life on this website. Photos don't need to be spot on, neither does the writing to make something good to the viewer. It is the connection it makes that is important. Perhaps a familiar mountain, a place you used to visit as a kid or a place you go to every day.
Overall, I just want to get people excited about the mountains and share the excitement I had with friends on those day(s) when I am fortunate enough to be out there. This isn't any competition; I'm not trying to be better than anyone (not that you said that). I'm just a semi (un)employed photographer/skier/lover of nature sharing his view of the mountains.

You have to punch the ISO down, push the speed down to around 20th of a second or less, which causes the background to blur, then you have to get real lucky and hold the camera super still to keep the foreground crisp. That is the hard part...plus the skiers don't know they are getting their image taken. You need the people to not move. It takes a lot of tries.

I just want to make clear that I am not hating on Unemployed's photos. They are fantastic.
I know some photogs don't like to give away their secrets but I'll ask anyway. If you prefer not to divulge, I understand. On the "Shuttling Gear to The Condos" photo did you use an external flash or just the on-camera flash? And did you use selective desat or was it just a gray day outside and colorful jackets inside?

No, happy to help.
I used a flash but can't remember if it was in camera. I'll post the exif below.
On the editing, I didn't use selective desaturate. What I did was take down the vibrancy in the RAW converter to almost nothing. Besides that I did the standard sharpening and contrast in CS.
Hope that answers your question.
Here is the Exif:
