Nice pics, I was up skiing on the 31st also..... beautiful day. Stayed in B lot that night, and then took the Gondola up around 3:30 to the summit house and drank up there watching the sun set behind Mt. Rainier.
I'm at Sea-Tac waiting for a delayed flight right now, but once I get back down to SF hopefully I can get some pictures up of the sunset from the summit house. My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

Spent 20 yrs of my childhood/young adulthood skiing that mountain. Was up there Wed/Thu/Fri. Thursday was probably one of the best pre-December days I've ever spent there. The terrain is definately sick. If you know where to go, it beats the shit out of a lot of other resorts that often take the terrain crown. Needs a more coverage - lots of chocolate chips out there still. But hell.. it's December!
Oh, and what lines? I don't think I ever stood in line longer than 5-10mins, and even then, only like 5 or 6 times at peak hours, with most lifts being a near ski-onto.Last edited by Lindahl; 01-03-2011 at 12:46 AM.

sweet pics! that was the first time i had been there on a sunny day, and man the scenery is epic!
skied one of the thrown chutes further down the ridge and hit a big death cookie that was semi covered up lost a ski and a pole, and got flushed down the chute by a 3 inch fracture. luckily my ski followed me but my pole did not
