The "Hakuba snow is not deep" thread

This is a travelers advisory issued by the poach ninja crew
    Do not come to Hakuba!
I repeat, do not come to Hakuba!
Snow is only waist deep here...
Pics to follow are proof of the pathetic snow conditions we have had from X-mas till now.

Satori enjoying some waist deep turns

    Yours truly spraying the camera

and messing up any pics henceforth...
Got too much moisture in the lens so most pics came out with blurry spots.

I concur. The weather system here in Hakuba has been rubbish. It's hardly snowed, the coverage is crap, and the mountains around here suck. Hence we decided to head over to Otari - Japan's most unknown and premier ski area in the country. Hakuba might as well be another Niseko. Otari going off.

Tsondaboy reveling in the fact that we didn't ski Hakuba today

    me enjoying Otari...

Hohes would like to ski with ya sometime if you're free

Lets see what we can do. It is my wife's holiday right now so she gets first call on my time, and for now I'm giving her skiing lessons on beginner runs. I've managed a few sessions in the trees - was good, about as shitty as in your photos

Poor you! We wish you some truly deep snow soon. This lack of coverage looks awful.

Satori - I'm not being forced to miss out on powder (not that is is a rare thing anyway). I'm choosing to invest in the future.

I think stuntcok was in Niseko looking for some powder, because we dont get any in Hakuba.
