Christmas Porn from Lake Tahoe

Brought to you from a North facing ridge in the Kirkwood sidecountry. On hand were Powdork, Ottime, one well used P&S and one helmet cam. The aspects that didn't get too much sun (most everything nowadays) were fantastic.

Getting started

Ottime finds a feature and misses the steeper landing lookers right, turning it into a double

the steep and deep is rare december

sunlight, also rare

then again, here

even the earth is rare

features are not rare (although they could be gone completely the next time the sun shines)

conditions sucked. i'm not coming out again unless it's over the head and blower.

that doesn't mean we can't do another lap.

^^^^this is the section we got to go at the end. in the last part of the video, he was planning on running it out to the left if it went, but when he went that way he saw that drainage was sliding too from his run-in on the spine. It was all fairly small though.

Glad you brought some of the stoke outside of the Tahoe thread. I forget that the rest of the board is not seeing the regular and great stoke that you and the rest of the Tahoe crew serve up for us on a daily basis! Keep up the good work!

^^I've been thinking about all the local threads lately. They definitely serve a purpose in that they keep the boards clear of a thousand Kirkwood, Squaw, Jackson, Bridger, vail, etc threads and they provide great info especially for someone coming to visit an area. At the same time they swallow stoke at an alarming rate with all the associated noise within the thread. I wonder if it's worth it at some point to go through the Tahoe thread and just pull out all the images and videos and put them into their own thread.

Sounds like a good idea but also sounds like a lot of work! It is crazy because we aren't even to xmas yet and there is already enough quality stills for a few magazines worth and enough video for a feature length film!

RaccoonFace 'usually' cross posts all the pics/vids from the Tahoe thread onto one of the posts on the first page. He was better about it last year but there is some stuff from this year:

Edit: Also, pics is a little more difficult but for videos I usually just subscribe to peoples Vimeo RSS feeds which I view with a news reader. Usually end up seeing most of your vids before you finish your post on TGR:

Flickr provides an RSS feed for new photos, but it seems most don't use Flickr here.
