dude should have lowered the blade to the pavement then grind the steel deep as he could into that road.
saved my own ass once using this method on a front loader slipping down a grade on hard pan. creeped back up by retracting arm and pushing bucket down, hydraulic juice spraying with each push.

That plow truck in the first video just has a front plow. Most front plows just float (on shoes sometimes) and push snow off the road. Not used for cutting compact snow."A lack of planning and preparation on your part does not make it an emergency on my part."
