According to NS, the correct way to ski pow is in the backseat

I've done it. Not the most comfortable ski in pow but definitely possible. Stay backseat. I'd definitely recommend demoing a pair of fat skis though. You probably wont enjoy the pow as much on a floppy 2x4 of a ski.
In my personal experience, a 2x4 is not floppy........

if you don't have rockered skis, obviously you gotta lean back quit being such an ass
A response to someone pointing out that you should not lean back.

Ok so pretty much... If I get pow go fast and stay backseat a bit?
And in the end, the OP takes home terrible advise.

How often do you ski pow on center mounted skis, huh?

Enough to know you still don't lean back. You might move your weight toward your heels but you still stay over your boots.
Move along nothing to see here.

Never. Please continue and explain how skiing in the back seat is good advice...

maybe my "associates" didn't do the best job of explaining it. but as the above poster stated, there is certainly a slight relaxation of the normally forward positioning.

even more so when you are on skinny center mounted skis.

On my Hellbents, all the time...with weight centered or forward, not backseat.

sorry, I assumed you knew that I mean park skis. this is NS we are talking about after all.

skinny cambered center mounted park skis are not conducive to a traditional stance while skiing powder.

Even if this was true, it still wouldn't be correct

I wouldn't try to defend NS on this one.. I post more on there but I found this thread pretty amusing. Who cares if you get a little tip dive on park skis. At least you'll be in control

i love the park as much as the next guy but i think some of you doods need to get out sometime and actually ski powder. you don't sit in the back seat.

then again i've seen some of my buddies out of the park and groomers or not theyre perminantely in the back seat, anckles locked, and hands down by their nees. come on guys! you're all making us look bad!

BTW, insert stoopid "AFTER BANG" joke here by some resident TGR grandpa.

While I do respect your logically incorrect negation of my previous statement, I do feel that constructive advice would provide more given the situation.

If there is a problem, do your best to let them/us know what to do to solve it.

Actually I meant just call us out and hide the fact that you know shit-all.

to be honest, that was my first thought when I skied my first powder, just seemed logical. I dont do it as much anymore, but have the tendency and catch myself doing it. Is there some good reading on general powder skiing technique? I dont get out in a ton of powder so would like to be more prepared.
