So true, the Twins have absolutely shit the bed recently in the playoffs. It absolutely kills me.

Re:mauer...I'm expecting consistency, I don't know where he found the power he hit with in 2009 but I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Rotisserie time! I like my (non-keeper) team this year, although half my pitchers are on the DL. 12 teams in the league, I picked 10th, 14th, and 24th to lead off (Crawford, Rodriguez and Reyes)- OF, 3B, and SS are pretty thin.

Three closers is too many but Wilson's starting on the DL and I'll be able to deal one of these guys.

    Victor Martinez
    Freddie Freeman
    Kelly Johnson
    Alex Rodriguez
    Jose Reyes
    Carl Crawford
    Shin-Soo Choo
    Jose Tabata
    Travis Snider
    Brian Roberts
    Jorge Posada
    Kendrys Morales

    Ps:
    Tommy Hanson
    Roy Oswalt
    Phil Hughes
    Johnny Cueto
    Hiroki Kuroda
    Brandon Morrow
    Francisco Cordero
    Chris Perez
    Brian Wilson

Happy Quasi-Opening Day everyone! It'll be so nice to have real baseball on TV when I get home tonight.

Tomorrow will feel more like Opening Day when I'm sitting down the RF Line at Coors Field at 2:00, bathing in the 70 degree warmth, drinking a beer, and anxiously awaiting another Rocktober run. BRING IT.

I was excited about taking a Mad Men lunch with my brother and coming back to work after a few innings of Sabathia / Verlander, but I'll settle for the rain I guess if it means a dump in Vermont and the Catskills.

Fucking MLB and their goddamn scheduling.

The unbalanced schedule totally sucks. Seriously, 18 games intra division makes even the most exciting games more boring. The stupid interleague play sucks and results in yet another disparity in the competition. They might add another wild card team which would make the 162 game season even more pointless if you basically want to settle the postseason with a coin toss.

AND they can't fucking bother to do opening day in warm weather stadiums. Who seriously cares if your team opens on the road or at home. The HOME OPENER has the exact same level of excitement, unless you're the Royals and already 0-6.

Seriously, I am the biggest fan ever and have tickets for two games in the next few days but I'd much rather they started a week later where maybe only the tip of my penis would fall off, rather than the whole thing. I'm already circumcised as it is, MLB.

So fuck you, baseball (or give me a job, thanks!).

Opening Day here in Colorado, a typically cold weather stadium, is going to be almost 75 and sunny. I've been to every opening day in the last 8 years and it's never been below 60 degrees.

God knows it's Opening Day tomorrow here in Colorado.

It might be a 40 degrees and snaining, but if Mark Teixeira is going to hit like it's August then I don't care anymore.

    P.S. Classic waffler!

Boston magazine used to have a feature called "Thank God We're a Two-Newspaper Town."

You can't be the best team ever when 60% of your rotation is made up of Lackey, Beckett, and Dice-K.

If I could be granted two wishes I'd strongly have to consider my boss being permanently in France and the Yankees only playing M-F day games.

    Danke schoen.

I think you have me confused with someone who is far less awesome.

The pitching in the NL West is sick. That is all.

Oh, and Clayton Kershaw is really fun to watch.

The fact that you're favored is all the proof i need that you're on your way to an 81-81 season. You're already at .500 now!

Kemp was killing it on the basepath last night. That said, I found it just slightly ironical that loafing it back to third essentially set him up to score on that play. Oh, and thank god for another huge hit by Loney...Broxton...I'm looking at you...

I love how the LA guys are so excited about the addition of a third base coach.

Oh, right, he's so much more than that.

A)local hero, he was part of the best infield ever for the Dodgers
    b) The man transformed the Phils' running game from 2007 to 2010.

In 2006, the year before his arrival, the Phillies stole only 92 bases. The following season, they were successful on 138 of 157 attempts, giving them an 87.9 percent success rate, the best in MLB history.

By the time he left, the Phils had led baseball each season in stolen-base percentage.
During that stretch, they swiped 501 bags.

    little excited yeah...
Donny baseball is a rook, but he has a solid cast around him now.

I'm impressed. It took us years of sucking to hate the Dodgers. It only took one WS win to bring out the Dodger Butthurt. Sweet.

Kershaw was good. Timmy was good. Giants had a very shaky defensive game. Got to shore that up. You're not going to see an error and a passed ball from Posey very often.
