I'm sure it was bargain-basement in perspective. Just buying shitty seats to a NBA Jazz game, in a game that measn nothing, can be more than what you paid for here, adn it was front row!

here is a concert we both missed that seemed very rad:

Man, that Joshua Tree area has a lot of festivals and cool bands coming through!

Also, I saw Tool two nights ago in SLC. Maynards vocals were turned down too much, hopefully not on purpose as his voice gets older. Rad show, but nothing like the high energy 90's shows they used to do. Always worth hearing one of the best drummers in the world of course! (Danny had a staph infection, but still played strong.)

And all the fans are a bit white trash these days, but with money. In the 90s they were listening to hair metal bands, I think. Doesn't matter, but all the Affliction shirts and BMWs in the parking lot did not remind me of the crowds in the past.

And chairs in pit area???? We be old!

Widespread Panic last night in Minneapolis. Off the charts. Sold out and everyone was up and jamming for the entire 3+ hours. My arms are sore from so much air guitar. Majority of the crowd was mid-20s and 30s; somewhat surprising as I expected it would be more of my middle aged peers . . .

For context, is your dislike specific to WP or extend to MMJ, Govt Mule, Phish, etc? And it's dis"hard"ening that your generation is embracing jam bands?

I don't want to derail this thread, but people can like whatever bands they want and I can hate crappy bands that sit on their fat asses on stools during huge concerts, like a Austin City Limit live concert I saw.

And no, I don't hate all the bands you listed. Or even know who MMj is.

It's basically an arch under the main bridge in town. Acoustics are tricky sometimes but very intimate. One of my favorites venues.

Henry Rollins bringing the spoken word to Portland, ME last night.

Stories about Iggy, Lemmy, Bowie, the Ramones and of course the current election.

Pretty much thinks anyone who is opposed to political correctness is a dinosaur and we should be focused on social evolution not destruction.

    Total badass still and always

Swans kill it live, so powerful; they project so much power, yet always seem like they've got so much more in reserve. Amazing talent. Their farewell tour 10-15 years ago (Soundtracks for the Blind) is one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Saw Sturgill Simpson a few weeks ago. Absolutely, mind blowingly good show. I'm not even sure how to categorize it. It was country for about two minutes, then just took off into awesome land. Easily one of my top 10 shows, maybe even top 5.

Saw Lucius this past weekend. Another really good show. Those ladies can sing, and the band is fucking solid. We chose balcony seating, expecting a mellow show, and realized right away that we'd made a bad choice. Super high energy, booty shakin' show that had me seat dancing and wishing I was down in front.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Damien O'Kane, at the Riverside Theater in Coleraine Northern Ireland. Awesome show, tiny venue. He grew up in Coleraine, his mom and grandmum had songs dedicated to them, and there were a bunch of his mates there giving him a bunch of smartass comments.

Nice! Was it solo Stevie or with Fleetwood Mac?

It was just her and her band.
I saw Fleetwood Mac few years ago at Jones Beach Nikon Theater in Long Island.
Personally, I enjoyed Fleetwood Mac more.
    Regardless, she was great.
I can't believe an 68 year old lady still can sing 2 hour concert the way she does in heels.
I can't even walk 5 blocks in heels.

If he's an underrated guitarist it's because the person rating him doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about. He's fantastic.
