First time there, wont be the last. Met some very nice people visiting from London. They had a few extra passes for the vip meet and greet mini performance before the show and hooked us up. LOVE this band.
Thanks for the heads up. Had never heard of this band and just checked out a bunch of their videos. Good stuff. Checked out their tour schedule and I "just" missed them in SF.

Gonna have to scope out their full albums, but the songs they have videos for are all over the map and it's a pretty cool map.

Stephen Marley last night was pretty awesome. A good mix of Bob tunes and his own. Flying Monkey in Plymouth is a cool little venue with great sound.

It's great that you can catch them in some great small venues, also some good performances on KEXP.

    Claudio Simonetti's Goblin & Susperia
Where: Oakland Metro Operahouse, Oakland, CA
    When: Saturday, November 10, 2018

Last night I tripped down from the mountains to see a variation of the band Goblin perform the score to Dario Argento's seminal 1977 gothic art-horror masterpiece Susperia. What a trip that was. The 4-piece band, led by original Goblin keyboardist Claudio Simonetti, project the movie on a screen behind them and then played along. It's kind of a cool schtick (I have only ever seen live bands play along to silent films before at film festivals, fwiw).

They are still in the midst of a fairly extended North American tour.
If you are a horror movie fan and dig over-the-top Italian prog rock, then I would recommend the experience.

That is weird. Sound is good. Small venue. Easy in and out. They're all over people when they have their phones out recording which I like a lot. Nothing worse than some dipshit recording (a shitty recording at that) an entire song right in front of you. I had one knumbskull talking over every fucking song, but then thankfully he left for several songs and comes back wearing a new Marley hat and proceeds to talk during the rest of the songs and then leaves early with 3 songs left. Suck a fucking kook. Of course he had his Spider jacket on...probably a sick skier no doubt.

Sonic Dawn - 70s style psych rock. Mellow and trippy.

Brant Bjork - the legend. Ones of the coolest cats you'll ever meet. Desert fuzz!

Monolord - one of my favourites in recent years. Doom sludgy goodness from Sweden.

Kadavar - second time seeing them this year. They are amazing live. German rock with a doomy psych style.

If you happen to live in or nearby (or just happen to be in the area at the end of the month) Seattle or Portland and you dig psychedelic pop, these folks are worth seeing:
