Saw a lot of music this summer here and there. Highlights:
    -Vulfpeck
    -Fearless Flyers
    -Khruangbin
    -Lettuce
    -Billy Strings
    -Kingfish (Christone Ingram)
    -Buddy Guy
    -Dead & Co.
    -Robert Cray
    -Trombone Shorty
-Dumpstaphunk (with George Porter Jr. and Cyril Neville)
    -Carlos Santana
-Earth,Wind and Fire (by accident but I'm glad I saw them)
    -Jack Johnson
    -The Mavericks
    -Anders Osborne
    -Donna the Buffalo
    -Tab Benoit
    -Beck
    -Bahamas
    -Modest Mouse
    -Hot Tuna
-Guster (never heard them before but they had a couple good tunes plus the lead singer was funny as shit)
-some good people I'm forgetting I'm sure

Todd Snider, Billy Strings again and Willie Nelson coming next couple weeks.

edit: remembered a couple more. Missed a bunch of good bands at Beach Road Weekend because of a wack scheduling problem I had plus insane thunderstorms caused cancellations.

Definitely go see Khruangbin. One of the best things all summer. They just groove the fuck out, it's pretty great.

Saw Future Islands a couple of weeks ago in Munich. Man the frontman has a energy! Modest Mouse in June but I was underwhelmed, they need Jonny Marr back in the lineup. Next week is Arcade Fire and then Dinosaur JR in October

Did anyone see Wolfie at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute?
No surprise the kid has got his dad's chops. Probably been playing this stuff since he was in grade school. Still pretty damn impressive!

Aeromsith at Fenway ( We went with clients for work) didnt disappoint.

Wasnt expecting much, Hadn't seen them since High School in 89 and Tyler is OLD. Figured they would roil out a 7-9 song Greatest hits and call if good.

They brought it. 16 song set, started with Back in the Saddle and then same old song and Dance which were perfect. Did some deep cuts, some covers. Saved Dream On, Sweet Emotion and walk this way for the encore, and still finished to a Muddy Waters cover while fireworks went off.

    Color me impressed.

Nine Inch Nails outdoors in Bend last night. Fantastic show, they absolutely killed. So tight. Excellent light show too; we even got treated to two random meteors mid show.

Back east mags, I hope someone back there gets to see LaCuna Coil as they are not coming to the west coast.
At least we get to see Joe Satriani Sept 22nd.

At Hoodoo Ski Resort. This being September in Central OR, it was lightly snowing ash from a big and growing wildfire 50 miles away. At least AQI was reasonable

I was the afternoon Parking “Team Captain”, working under the watchful eye of Chuck Shepard, Hoodoo’s owner.

Gotta love how a guy with a billion dollar commercial real estate portfolio is out there parking cars every weekend.

Despite reports, Jerry is alive and attended Bob’s show

This being essentially a Dead show, and a mere 80 miles from The People’s Republic of Eugene OR, microbuses abounded.

One of which pulled into a parking spot poorly. When I asked driver if she would please move over about 6’, she couldn’t - the battery was dead. Go figure.

One of the great perks of the gig was tips - got three prerolls and two buds from patrons.

The show was pretty good too

Was really surprised with Don Was in the lineup. His prior work with Was(not)Was is a little different than hippy jam music. But it was all good.

I saw Chief Xian aTunde aka Christian Scott in Amsterdam a couple weeks ago. He gave shit to people putting their glasses on stage as "the stage is a sacred space".

A week later Russian Circles played in SLC and gave no fucks about anything on stage. A wall of sound for only 3 band members. Both wildly different and great shows. The bass player for Russian Circles was also playing some sort of foot piano with large raised keys, and was only a couple feet wide. Anyone know what it was exactly? Ambient sounds came out of it. Below is an online pic of it, not mine

Had fun camping with Heather and Ritchie this weekend. Hadn't seen Heather since 2013. You were missed. Also met a woman who stayed at my place the night before Eiseman back in 2004? Mind fuck.

Cool. The Eiseman trip when you still lived in that house? I remember Ingrid, Jkon and Al, me, don't know who else.

Yup. And apparently this chick, from 18 or 19 years ago. Crazy. Picked me right out.
