Sturgill Simpson puts on a damn good show, even if it is only one set with no encore.

Saw him on Tuesday here in Calgary and he killed it. Love those New Orleans horns!

With all the Canadians on this board it's hard to believe there's no talk of the Hip. Anyway, went to the show here in Calgary on Aug. 1st which was show number 20 something for me for them and shitgoddamn was it something. Will be tuning into the CBC tomorrow for the Kingston show with the rest of Canada.

Al Di Meola put on a great show last night in Brookfield, WI at the Wilson Center for the Arts. He played an electric set followed by an acoustic set and finished with some of his popular, well known stuff. Lots of energy.

Haven't seen him since his visit with Return to Forever in 1977(?) at Summerfest.

Jeff Beck did not disappoint at the Woodland Park zoo last night. Buddy Guy was supposed to be on the ticket, but was absent for some reason. Great show non the less. One less show on my bucket list.

Great show by Zac Brown Band at Fenway park this weekend. They covered "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, the lead singer for Dropkick Murphy's helped out with "Shipping Up to Boston" and for the encores, they played "Lets go Crazy" by Prince as well as "Homegrown". Awesome band, great time

Old Crow Medicine Show absolutely killed it at Red Butte in Salt Lake. Followed a few days later with some serious jams by Gov't Mule and Moe at Red Rocks

Steve Earle and Shawn Colvin delivered tonight. First few songs, from their new album, were meh. Then they started telling good stories, loosening up, and playing some of their own stuff. I could call out the price and sound, but those two did right.

saw Lucinda WIlliams Friday. Absolutely love her music. So authentic. Great little venue and sound.

Also spent the weekend listening to and watching the Lock'n stream, which was incredible. Turkuaz, Vulfpack, Phish, Phil, CRB, Tedeschi Trucks absolutely killed, amazing festival that if you could guarantee the weather I'd buy for next year as soon as they go on sale.

Echo and the Bunnymen on Friday night at the 930 Club. Great show, and ian's voice was still pretty on point since it was only the 2nd night of the tour.

    The CONCERT thread

Tedeschi Trucks Band 2 nights ago. Everyone was creaming for "Angel from Montgomery", but the real juice was when they played "Bitches Brew".

Black Sabbath in Oakland last night was fucking great! The sound was perfect and Ozzy was even on key for most of the show. Just outstanding!

Cheep trick / Blackhearts / Heart sat. When you censure the stupid ass 80s power ballad crap there's some quality here. "you don't have to love me yet, and lets get high a while...."

    Adele in the city.
She probably is the best singer I've ever seen in person.
    Simply amazing.

Agreed. I can't listen to her music, just doesn't touch me; but I gotta say, the girl has serious pipes. Impressive talent.
