Saw Charlie Crockett at the Levitate festival here in Mass a week or so ago. Couldn’t make it to most of the festival because of a wedding but did see Charlie and Sublime, Sublime was kinda meh

Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings are back on tour for the first time in 5 years and blew away the BTV crowd last night with 2 full sets and then a 3 song encore. As folks were starting to leave they came back up on stage for another 2 song encore. Just an amazing night.

No pics as they requested no photos, video, or audio as we entered the room. At first I thought, “yeah right”, but the crowd was incredibly respectful for the entire show with no chompers yapping away during the music, no one taking 2 minutes of vid with their phone above their head, etc. It was just a room full of folks looking forward the hearing the songs and exploding after each one showing our appreciation.

on a whim i convinced stbmrstgapp to go to a concert tonight (trombone shorty & big boi), only problem was we didn't have tickets

after a good pep talk from NBABUCKS, I convinced her to stand outside and score extra tickets from people going inside - admittedly it wasn't a hard sell and we both had a great time trying to score tickets

big boi was a phenomenal opener and now we're on to trombone shorty

Grace Potter’s Grand Point North Festival kicked off last night in BTV. We were volunteering (bike valet) and missed Phosphorescent but did catch most of The Head & The Heart.

Grace is selling/auctioning off a bunch from her closet as part of the flood relief fundraiser that the Festival proceeds are going towards this year.

She literally bumped into me as she was chatting up a neighbor about the flooding in her hometown of Fayston and repair efforts in other northern VT towns hit by the remains of Beryl.

Nice. Headed down to see the Flaming Lips perform Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots tonight. Guessing Grace makes an appearance at some point. You working the bike valet again? If so ask for change when you see 2 styling cruiser bikes with wooden rear baskets.

Saw Anders Osborne and Tab Benoit in a good fun show about a week ago. I like both of them and they obviously like each other. Fun time. Blues rock scorcher Mike Zito opened, that guy can play a little.

Went to Newport Folk yesterday, saw a bunch of good stuff. Didn't see Molly Tuttle because I never heard of her until reading in this thread about 5 minutes ago. Oh well. Alison Russel was good. The highlight was a surprise appearance by Beck, which was pretty cool. Discovered that I'm not a big Black Pumas fan. Guster played a fun set. Didn't stick around for Hozier but saw him with Alison Russel when he came out for a song with her.

Today we took the boat over there and cruised around in front of the Fort for a while, that was fun but pretty hectic, lots of boat traffic through the area. But heard part of the Hermanos Guttierez set and it sounded good out on the water. Maybe next year we'll go over early and anchor.

Tomorrow we're going back to Newport, really looking forward to Taj Mahal. If he plays "Leaving Trunk" i may shit myself. Also going to see Cory Wong (of Vulfpeck). we saw him last year and it was really good, just a super-tight band. Also plan to see Tinariwen, but they overlap with Andrew Bird and I love him, so we'll see.
