One of fhe best shows I've ever seen. John Prine is fucking legend. The whole show was a start to finish experience and very thoughtful.

Raconteurs last night at the Mission Ballroom. Great great show, but no Carolina Drama and a couple others. Heavy on the new album.

No pictures cuz phone pouches...but other than the bulk, makes for a better experience. I'd just leave the phone in the car if my tix weren't on it.

Saw Dvid Byre's American Utopia on Broadway this past Saturday. Second time I've seen it, I saw it last summer in Boston too, the show has evolved quite a bit and they had to adapt it a bit for a smaller stage, but it was definitely still good.

Wednesday it's Modest Mouse and the Black Keys, my wife loves the Black Keys, I like them pretty well, but still it should be good.

Friday it's Tower of Power, which I expect to be great. Really looking forward to it.

    recorded last year:

Love this comment: "All i can think is u would never know these old guys are such a bunch of badasses if u saw them around a table at a Denny's"

I just watched Stop Making Sense the other night. Brilliant! I was wondering what he was up to and saw all the shows scheduled and wondered about them. Maybe I should check it out?

And driving across country recently we listened to a lot of pod casts and the Joe Rogan - Black Keys was pretty damn good. I like the band, not that I own any of their music, but after hearing them I like them a lot more. Patrick the drummer is a piece of work. Likeable dude imo.

Oh it's a really good show, Byrne really connects with the audience, it has a cool concept, and the execution is pretty amazing, as somebody said it's "the greatest marching band in history". High concept by one of the most artistic minds of an era, on Broadway. I recommend it. The theatre venue is kind of weird in that you feel like you should be sitting even though they say it's okay to dance, but whatever, still good.

Have you seen th Black Keys live?
I have dug them since Pete ( had a few mag names) turned me on to Thick Freakness a while back so was prepped for it but their MSG show a few years back was one of the best I have seen and I have seen a few.

Speaking of Wilco was fantastic at Radio City Sat:

Yeah I know Pete, haven't seen him in a shitlong time though. He should come back here, he's a funny fucking guy. I've seen the Black Keys twice, in DC and then in Vegas on New Year's Eve a few years back, don't get me wrong I think they're good, but somehow they just kinda miss me a little or vice versa. I dunno. I get it but i don't get it.

re ToP, man if you haven't watched that video I posted it's 12 minutes well spent I'm telling you.

Just got back from the Black Keys, turns out it was the 4th time I'd seen them after I thought about it more, and it was way better than the other shows. Kicked ass, actually. They were really focused on driving the show forward and it worked great. My ears are ringing pretty bad at the moment, oh well.

Daughters last night. One if the most insanely brilliant bands I've ever seen. Just discovered them thanks to the show. Singer spends more time in the audience than on stage.

With Fake Jerry on guitar and vocals! I’m thinking about going tomorrow at the Lebanon Opera House. John Kadlicek is a killer guitar player.
