Oct. 27th, 2010 – 49″ new and the first BIG strorm of the 2010/2011 season brought us and about 50 other rando skiers to Mt. Rainier National Park once again. Wanting to do a tour for the first time in a few months that starts w/ skins on not a long ass boot pack.

Getting to the park entrance just after 9AM gave us about a two hour wait for the rangers to swing the gate open for Paradise… Yes, Paradise!!!

We took our time out of the chute and let the other 50 people work on setting a good packed skin track. Once we hit Pan Face, spotted Silas and his group on their way down along w/ Amar and his group rippin the skins off to ski the lower mountain, trying to escape the wind. We followed their lead and yo yo skied the face, then dropped into Edith basin for a couple more good laps(even though it was quite sun effected w/ a small ice layer) before calling it a Great day!

Skip to 3:00 minutes in or so if you want to see people ski the top 3" of the snow there.

To East Coast Tree Skier (ectreeskier) - Thanks for part of that comment. The other part not to stoked about your choice of words "cocksucker" but after seeing your tag line "Addicted to Blow..." I better understand where you where coming from. The voice in the vid is a friend of mine and the NW ski family who was skiing long before your parents probably were. He passed on his clips for me to use and thought it was a funny change of pace for the same old Mt. Rainier off season fix especially w/ 49" of new.

i'm 21, with a broken pelvis that'll soon be healed and a job that entails sitting at a computer 8 hours a day. lol because in about 2 weeks when my ski season starts i'll probably be on here much more infrequently on my way to another 150+ day season. how's your life workin out for you, jackass? specifically when i referred to him as sounding like a cocksucker, i was referring to him being a douche to some kid in the parking lot for having brightly colored clothing and not looking like your typical arcteryx wearing asshole you see at mtn trailheads in the winter.

don't you worry. it got stolen but i will be getting a new one. hopefully some real footage this year too. it'll start slow (coming back from broken tib/fib with a rod in april, pelvis a month ago), and hopefully once it snows i'm golden.

1) you seem to have gotten down on your luck (and for that, I hope all the best for you).

2) your POV videos are freaking bad-ass, and I hope that you get another camera secured soon. I kinda need that quasi-weekly Snowbird footage. Kthx.
