    OFFICIAL Vail/Beaver Creek ski/ride/conditions/hook up 2010-2011 thread

On hill conditions, backcountry conditions, looking for partners, etc...

Here is hoping for a deep deep season in Eagle County. I think I'll kick mine off with a skin in the morning...early.

I'm moving my younger sister(sorry no Nekkid pics, you sic fukers) from Sacramento to Ft. Collins over MLK weekend & will be there till Wed or Thur. the following week. Would love to try & get @ least 1 day on the hill seeing as how i never been to CO. for riding. Just wondering what the closest/best options from Ft. Collins are. Don't have Bukoo bucks to spend so even a day in the backcountry would be great.

    Thanks for any info,

    Nuthon.

I know it's a ways out but just trying to get my ducks in a row.

To help ensure all your dreams come true you should be attending ULLR-Fest 2010. Eagle County's tribute to the great one and a fundraiser for a great organization CAIC.

Be there or suffer the consequences!

As far as significant resorts go, I believe Loveland/A-basin/Keystone are the closest mileage wise (~120 miles; most of which is on 70). Winter Park is a few miles more but on a different route (~127 miles; less time on 70). Past Loveland and the like you've got Breck, then Copper, then Vail/BC.

Edit: And to keep this more on topic for the thread at hand... I recall someone last year posting an article about proposed BC changes. Did Rose Bowl get replaced with a high speed or was that for a future date?

Rose Bowl did not get replaced but it is on the agenda for next year I think. Other changes coming as they get ready for 2015

Dawn patrol at Vail Pass was damn good - get it before the sun does! 9"-12" quasi-base w/ 9"-12" fluff on top... didn't hit a single rock.

Too stormy for pics, but the sun did start peeking through as I was leaving at 10:00 (tragic)

??? what? That would be the worst thing Beave could ever do!! (well, a lift up to the bald spot would be a little worse). Thats our only inbounds refuge when the tourons are out in force. that slow 3 seater is da bomb and keeps em away!

Sadly...my wife's parents sold their place in Cordillera a few months ago...evil, bad, nasty people!!!
When seconds count...ski patrol, SAR or the cops are only minutes away...

If they call it Tourist Season, why cant we shoot them?

In this economy, we'll take anything we can get to keep people visiting our area.

Best thing about it, when there are races and fresh snow, it tends to be a good time to ride Vail, as more people are standing around ringing bells and drinking beer than usual.
