I think you're pretty far off on your price. Seems to me you're lucky to get a running one with a lot of rust for that. Let alone low milage or not ready for for a new engine. Cool Vans but not built to take abuse, or go uphill. Case in point; I was just at the Hot Tomato in Fruita and a lady was peddling hers. 170K, some rust, running but likely in need of a new engine among other things, $13K.
That things worth it for the drivetrain alone. 4X4 conversion runs around $10K. Bet you could buy this and have the drivetrain installed on your Van for 1/2 that price. V10 is pretty reliable but notorious for REALLY abysmal mileage. I have a 1 ton E350 with the 7.3 powerstroke, seriously considering this. There's nothing better than sliding down snow, and flying through the air

Saw a Wesfalia Syncro with Subaru 3.0 engine up on Berthoud Pass. Looked nice. Too bad it was on a flatbed tow truck! Ha-ha!

This is a really cool truck. Now, I think this would be an AWESOME pow chasing mobile if you had a beefer frame for weight purposes, a 4bt or 6bt Cummins and put a hard side camper on it.

Anyone here ever do a diesel ambulance to a RV? Did some interwebbing, look pretty cool. Worth it, good war wagon? Versatile enough, plusses, minuses?

+1 for the Astro. Love mine. Just got new shoes today, and looks like we got the same wheels ticketchecker. BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A K02's with Unique 297 Steel wheels. Can't wait to hit the dirt roads this spring and summer!

It is never "easy". Suspension and drivetrain parts are too heavy for one person to lift in my experience. Air tools are key and a lift is great to have.

Definitely worth it, good deal on a solid rig with a long life ahead of it.
Well, an eamil and multiple texts with no response, I guess it's gone. Ad is still up, WTF is with people who won't even do you the courtesy of replying that it's sold. There's nothing better than sliding down snow, and flying through the air

89' Toyota Winnebago w/ 3.0L V6 5-Speed. I just took it from Jersey to the Cascades and back. I've taken this thing on some serious trips and it just keeps on ticking, and I've slept in ski area lots, rv parks and walmarts all over the country. The duallys do alright in snow up to about 8". I keep a set of chains just in case. I've had to use them a few times. Only bad part is that the 3.0L doesn't have much power. I have to leave it in 1st gear on steeper passes.
Some of you might have seen this around. It has spent a lot of time in Summit county. Two years ago it was stashed up on Ptarmigan for the season.
The DVD player only plays Beerfest.....
