That ambulance is haunted for sure. Can you imagine how many people have died inside that thing?

$7800 CDN. I've seen it in person... Definitely been lived in, but not nearly as bad as it could be for 40 yrs old.

    Looks like a solid '95, with a pre-built dirtbag setup for $3900: https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5708158105.html

A pricier, but potentially better base project vehicle - https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5718395207.html

I'm digging that Tiger and the Ambulance; just need to shed some weight to get above 10mpg cruising.

Nice Previa's. The dude in the 2nd ad is the fellow I talked to win I was looking for one. He really knew the vehicles inside and out (only thing he sells).

That first 95 is great. I had almost the same one. The guy in Boulder is always overpriced but his are always super clean.

Anyone seen one of these in person yet? I like the double back doors. They look pretty solid, and of course are not cheap...

    Free Subaru conversion kit homemade.

Includes: plywood platform with glued close cell pad on top. Cut out for cooler. Height raised to allow 2 plastic bins underneath in rear. Cut out for 50 gallon cooler. Support rail for cooler. Holes for secure attachment. Insulated window coverings with cloth exterior.

Made for a gen IV outback and it was rock solid. Just not going to be using it and would be good to see it put to a good use.

Will not just send the window coverings-it is a whole package. Probably only applies to folks in Maine or NH or have a connection or reason to be there.

That would need a ton of insulation to be ski RV worthy

A little wood stove would fix that.

Okay, any of you dentists have an opinion on the optimal van layout (low roof) for a winter-ski mobile? Plenty of info out there on Expo and Sportsmobile about these rigs but much of it is geared towards summer camping, when you're not spending as much time inside the rig with wet gear.

I'm hoping to make it usable for two skiers. Minimal luxury, all emphasis on function which means comfy beds, a simple galley, and adequate storage for 2-4 day trips. I've narrowed it down to two options. Keep in mind that the van pictured is a high roof Promaster - I'm rolling in an standard height AWD Express

    1. 2x individual beds in the back with a folding partition to connect the two for a big bed option, galley behind driver seat, storage underneath beds. Example:

    2. 1x Gaucho bed behind drivers seat, galley and storage along short wall section. Extra storage aft of gaucho and underneath. Example:

Any winter camping experience with something similar. Pros? Cons? With option 1 everything is usable all the time but storage is less accessible. Option 2 has better options for well-defined storage, but cooking and sleeping require bed setup and tear down.

Biggest thing is insulation. Careful with spray foam as you could warp the walls. Very Aspen Extreme! Just needs pvc ski holders and 2 propane bottles on the back door

    Insulate and ventilate.

I'd say option 2. You'll want plenty of hanging storage to help stuff dry. Plus when it's decent outside you can have a little deck out the back doors with easy access to kitchen and gear.

Have you seen Paul Jensen's work? He does great, basic conversions. His blog is good and shows at least one complete conversion. Could give you some ideas for your van.
