The only thing needed to complete this rig is a dirtbag skier to make it home.

Gents,
Need some info on the Alpental RV lot scene for New Years weekend, anyone have feedback on the following;
Does it usually fill up on holiday weekends? I think they max at 15 or so, no hookups so thought most would stay away
I know it's generator only but is there a quiet time for gennys? My rig only has 1 battery and won't make it through the night without running most of overnight
What's the New Years party like at the lodge/bars up there?
Any feedback would be appreciated, minus the typical Northwest friendliness.
Thanks!

Years ago I rented a car in the UK. Turned out to be a 5 speed, right hand drive (fortunately pedals are the same as in the US). Driving on the left side of the road. Some of those multiple roundabouts were sporty (especially this one with 5 small roundabouts at the intersection of 6 roads around a large one, outside of the large one drives clockwise, inside is counterclockwise...US driver's heads would explode) but it turned out fine. You get used to it quickly.

That looks insane, never encountered anything like that in NZ. Bought right hand drive five speed Civic 4 door hatch for about $300 US. Came with chains, fit all our skis, good to go. Sold it to a kid from Tahoe workin up at Temple Basin when we left.
On a side note, they were full when we got there so they just stuck us in one of the employee's rooms. Private room for me and my gal for evening chores, score! There's nothing better than sliding down snow, and flying through the air

Very pleased with my new Olympian Wave catalytic propane heater on my recent trip. Kept me warm and I didn't die. I did keep a window cracked open.
I stayed in a hotel while at the resort, but slept in the back of my Tahoe coming and going.

I slept in the Gunnison Walmart parking lot last Wednesday night and had a bit of a run in with the guy plowing the lot in the morning. I called ahead of time and asked the Walmart if it was alright to park there overnight and they said it was fine, but the plow driver felt different. He threatened to tow/ticket me and was an all around douche, so I would avoid that lot for now.
On a different note, the wanderlust hostel in gunny is a great little spot!

If you're skiing CB there are plenty of spots to park overnight just a few min from town.

Snow Chain Advice for a class B?
For a Ram Promaster based Class B (front wheel drive):
1) Cable chains or regular chains? (never chained up something so heavy)
2) favorite makes and models of chains?
The thules have been favored on a few of the RV forums but pricey.
thanks for the advice!

You might want to look into the socks. I'm not kidding. Could get you through with a lot less hassle.

Skipped the sock and cables and went for On Spot Chains. If you are of the mechanical nature and live in a snowy climate, visit your local school bus junkyard for all the parts. If you want to forget about getting a new fly rod or mtn bike this spring visit a dealer and you will never get out of your rig to chain up again.
