What did your passengers do? Hanging them seems a bit over the top.

Are you planning on insulating and building out the interior? If so, would love to see photos when finished. Can't find many built out Tufport photos on the net, although I know they are out there. Have an All-Terrain Camper (just like FWC) that suits my purposes but have thoughts of switching to hard side fiberglass for better winter use. Tufport seems like a good pick and close to where I am at.

I remember someone calling it a mother in law quarter. Maybe search that term.

I puts skis in a ski bag, strap one pair to each side of my ladder and lock in place to the ladder using a bike cable lock wrapped tightly around skis between toe and heel piece.

Ski RV's, who's sleeping in parking lots?
GOTOS FTW!
Ok that’s actually a pretty sweet hitch rack setup

Anyone have info on the low profile ski boxes in pics 2&3? I did a search for Hive but came up empty. Tourig is a van converter but their site doesn’t list any accessories like this. Owl Van’s box is over $1500, weighs 80+ lbs, and sells out immediately when they occasionally mfg it.

Interesting idea but they tend to be too tall right?
I’ve posted my ladder ski options in this thread but here’s another pic. The aluminum channel on the lower right is a slot for skis that works well, and the plastic coated cable is for when I’m carrying 4 pairs on the ladder. In both cases Im securing the upper section with voile straps mounted on a horizontal piece of 8020 aluminum.

Like the vertical rocket box solution. Elegant and simple and not $1,500!

Another cheap solution is a seven foot length of six inch diameter ABS drain pipe. Cap both ends and mount it wherever you want.

I have an Alta bike rack and was going to buy the adapters to mount my rocketbox to it this season - now I realize it's not mounted vertically and might pass - or get a cheap rack to use instead of a rocketbox.
Anyways, just throwing out another option. This setup would be great for snowboards since they're shorter.

I'm sure they've done the math but man I don't know how that doesn't just torque that post and snap like a toothpick when a box+gear starts wobbling.

Nice! I may have to go this route. How did you go about affixing the shelf at the bottom of the box?
I know. That's about where I am in my quest to find a proper way to carry and store skis while traveling with the camper.
Not a bad idea, but that limits you to one ski pair per pipe length, no?
