Thanks for the compliments. To pay for a buildout is low end $20k up to $50k for a nice build, plus the cost of the van of course so I opted to do it myself. I have put around $500 into tools and spent a ton of time online finding how-to DIY and instructional videos, blogs, etc. There is if anything, too much info online. But once you find a layout you like it's pretty straight forward to do most of it yourself. Time is often the limiting factor for most but if you have that, then a self build is totally doable 🤙

1994 Catelina Coachman - Fresh winter paintjob
Just dropped $7K on 1994 Catelina and gave her a pretty unreal paintjob. New to TGR though - anybody know how long it takes to be able to post pics / links?

Just read your blog posts on Medium and signed up for updates! It's a cool idea that it seems the ski industry is already trending towards - hopefully you guys can prevent the resorts from massively fucking it up (which they probably will).
A lot of the millennial differences come from the increased exposure to content via social media. Every time someone location tags a sweet photo on Instagram, it gets added to the list of places to go. Lots to talk about there, aka to some degree ruining a lot of the outdoors with tourists. I think finding the right balance is key.

I have been a van guy since an epic road trip to Canada at age 18.... Here's my current setup on a recent trip to Yellowstone. Custom built everything inside. Pull out seat bed with seatbelts, led lights, solar panel, working sink and solar shower for the warmer months. Bought it for $500 4 years ago. About $2000 worth of shade tree mechanical work and another $500 on the interior. It's my mobile base camp in the mountains.

Ski RV's, who's sleeping in parking lots?
A good deal in a '91 28' class C; only $4k, in good shape. I have a similar model in a 21'; love it.

Class C ski rv
Here is the RV we use summer and winter. It’s a 2000 24 foot Triple E Classs C made in Winkler, Manitoba where they know cold. Super Duty 450 chassis with V10, air springs and positrac. Standard features include dual pane windows, all tanks and lines are inside the living area, fully insulated and enclosed holding tanks, 2 inch vacubond construction, rear axuiliary heater for passenger and tank compartments, 33,000 btu furnace and 60 lb. propane tank.
We added insulation to the bunk floor and storage compartment and upgraded the charging system with an Intellipower smart charger to charge the two golf cart batteries with a small Honda eu 1000 generator. Also made I inch styrofoam and Reflectex panels for the windows and a removable quilted curtain to separate the driver’s compartment. Our coldest day so far was -25c in Lake Louise with no problems.
