I know Sprinter world is more or less full of insanely overpriced stuff, but even $150k seems over the top for what looks to be mainly bolt ons. A Winnebago Revel is around $160k for a much more thorough build out.
Those people are definitely trying to cash in on the current market.

Just had a heavy leaf spring pack and new shocks installed in my Tundra so I could get a FWC Hawk and tow a boat. It rides better now, even empty. Getting the camper shortly so we'll see what else I might have to do. The current tires have the payload although that would prob be my first upgrade if I encounter any handling issues.

"Starting At: $185,838"
https://www.winnebago.com/models/pro...mper-van/revel
I assume you can add sales tax on top of that, too.

Yup, and if folks don’t want to permanently mount it in the truck, the heater-in-a-box builds are pretty great.

Ridiculous question but I’m using an aluminum small 10-12 boat as a roof extension on my short bus project anyone have a fucked up aluminum boat? Or other cheap ideas in the Bay Area? I’m traversing the country through from sf to Boston. If anyone has a bright idea and wants to have some fun with a roof raise let me know. Been looking on Craigslist, they just get snapped up fast

I think I finally got a GFC build spot that is ready to go.
At the end of the day the GFCs are proven and in super high demand. If I upgrade to a van next year I can unload the GFC in 5 minutes with little to no loss in re-sale.
I know the build quality is going to be better and the weight pretty low.

what no way?
this thread might die since it's mostly people throwing down ideas for you every week
"We built our dream van and absolutely love everything about it. Then life took us in a different direction."
well thats a bummer
prolly cost the 150 - 160 someone else threw out
the high end custom builders and revel all seem to be in the 185k range
crazy number at 230k an only put 7500 on it

“Life took us in another direction” must be code for my employer told me I have to come back to the office.

Ski RV's, who's sleeping in parking lots?
I rolled a F250Igloo. I had an 05 f150 and picked up a 99 250 with lower miles and 6.5’ bed - which was mandatory for me at 6’2”. Mr Buddy is great for me and warms up the rig quick. Need to watch condensation but it is for short trips like you described. I wish my topper was extended height, but I can put it in the garage with racks off. What I’ve learned is that I’m really only in it for short bursts or sleeping. I went with this thinking I’d need the weight capacity for a full slide in but with the market on campers right now - that’s like a decade of season passes.
