My F150 had a bed rug and topper it came with, a river cot and a good sleeping bag and an $80 buddy heater that I ran before bed and when I woke up and I took it down to 0* many times.
Dude...do not equate #truckbedlife with a GFC. Its like not even close to the same thing.

Well yeah...but that's not the point or maybe it is. Imagine aside, it just seems like a lot of cheddar for exactly what it is. From a distance it looks like a well made product. If this is what you want for $7k, have at it.

The V2 Platform Camper seamlessly melds with your truck, so you never have to take it off. It combines the industry’s only cabana-style camper shell with a pass-through floor which leads from the truck bed to an integrated rooftop tent—creating a spatial relationship that is the perfect blend of protection from the elements with immersion in the outdoor spaces where you travel. Oh—and it sets up in seconds.
For me, vis a vis a regular fiberglass topper, I'd gain stand up height and additional in bed storage which ain't important to me. I'd lose winter time warmth and the ability to have a lumber rack.

I'm not raining on Phish's parade. He identified some particular application and I hope it works great for those. Mostly I'm just laughing at what camping has become to a particular demographic.

Damn, that's a sweet product. If they made one that fit my truck I'd be all over it.

Has anyone made any progress or purchase of a scout camper? Anyone look into the availability up north here?

Trying to get my high top insulated and paneled out over the long weekend. Throw in a heat source and I’ll be ready for some back lots this winter. I’ll finish trimming it out as time allows, but want to keep it usable in the meantime.

Seriously though, I have louvered inserts for my van windows and if I raise the window and stop an inch below and then tap the button to get it up the last bit it works fine. If I just raise it full speed it tends to hit the insert hard and then retract.

If Froriders method doesn't work try your luck/timing with raising window and turning off key/elec at the same exact time?

FWIW I am absolutely loving my 5kw chinese heater. Camped out with it again on a "warm" night this past friday looking for elk. Maybe 25 degrees. Kept the top of the GFC at 60* all night with it on the lowest setting. Drained the 330w battery pack from 100% down to only 72%. Used about 2.5L of diesel.

I don't think you want your camper so close to the roof of your truck as it looks like it would rub. And for better or worse it's a dually. While that helps to carry the load, it can hurt on snow traction, and it makes it hard to easily fit in most parking spaces which the length of this truck would also do.

So this the American dream? A truck limo camper? With hot tub and strippers inside?

In this case the width of the dually isn't so much a factor in parking since it looks to be the same or even maybe less than the width of the camper

Strippers yes, hot tub no. These portable ones are far superior than a space hogging hot tub for a TC.

A guy out of UK is making awesome programmable SILENT pumps for these heaters. I might buy one in a few weeks (the pump). They look great. Easy Google search.

FWIW, easy numbers on amp draw is about 1.9-2.1 amp hours running at 2k on the 5k heater. They pull 8 amps on start up and shut down for a couple minutes at most for the glow plug at start up, and glow plug on shut down to prevent sooting.
