Thanks for the info on the low roof AWD.

Skip under bed storage. Leaves headroom for reverse cowgirl.

Which Transit are you talking about? I've got a low roof T350 and there's way more than 54 in of interior height. I'm not home right now and won't be for awhile so can't measure it for you. I'm 6'3 and can walk around bent over a little bit no problem.

That would be awesome, the number didn't sound right to me either. I was on the ford site, thought I was looking at t150 #s. Wonder if I ended up looking at transit connect #s in error.

Local dealer finally got one in trade, 26k miles. I'll have to go measure it and get a feel for size.

Edit: online specs from Ford.com show the interior cargo height max is 56.9. I wonder if they have that measurement for something odd. Like from wheelwells up, or up to a point on the wall in which it starts to bow back in. Sure seems oddly low.

Before I insulated roof and installed insulated floor, I could fully stand up in my MR transit (I’m 75” tall). My recollection was that LR version was about 9” shorter in height?

I see low roof transits often. You could stand inside if you were 5 feet tall maybe. They are crazy low.

Any thoughts on a pop-up tent tonneau cover? I keep a small gear drawer in the bed up to the top of the wheel wells and think the tonneau may replace my topper if I can find one that still allows me to sleep back there.

Ok, not what you asked about exactly (or even that close), but this is on my wish list:

Went to this expo yesterday in Missoula. It was a really cool and low-key way to see many different ideas of how to configure a van. I'd guess between 20-30 vans to check out. Appears they are taking this around the west.

I hope we see more of this type of thing. I really enjoyed the "show and shine" in town last year. Some sweet old vehicles. I wouldnt miss a camper van show if they came through town. That's something i very well might own

These both will get the job done but they definitely are on two separate levels.

The $90,000 you save could do a lot of sprucing up to that camper

Does anyone have one of these cheap heaters with the dial control? I remember reading somewhere about which control was the best but can't find it now. And this one is below $100 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L86FQ5S...v_ov_lig_dp_it

About a year ago, we bought a Transit with a professional mtb camper build-out off craigslist with about 30,000 miles. It's long and tall, great kitchen, no bathroom (I'd like the option, wife does not), drives great, huge inside. Our 1-year old baby sleeps great in it. We're both back to work full time, not getting to use it as often as we'd like.

We looked at renting one last year. The last month of maternity leave, we roadtripped to Glacier NP with the babe. It would have been like $5k to rent, so we went all in and bought one. Now, the table is turned.

Today was my first rental on outdoorsy. They seem like a nice, mature couple. One high-end Specialized mtb, wife has a blingy e-bike. Super nervous. I put the price way high, hoping to get fewer rentals, but there's already been a bunch of interest. I might need to push the price a little more. Crazy $$$. Figure if it rents for 200 nights, the entire silly price of this campervan is paid off.

Anyone else ever use outdoorsy, from a user or renter perspective?

Ski RV's, who's sleeping in parking lots?

Rented a JDM hi-ace pop top in Juno, AK last summer. Only like 50 miles of road there. Worked out fine. It was pricey but same as getting a rental car and cheep motel.

I saw this today in Carson and thought of you guys. It's obviously too high, and piloted by a moron, but otherwise looks pretty sano.Click image for larger version.
