Reading through the reviews on all the chinese heaters there's a lot of people that like them put every model has a couple reviews that it shit the bed. Om guessing most the bad ones end up getting a review and only a small margin of the heaters that work how they should get a review. Most just work and don't get credit in the reviews. They sound simple to hook up

The fuel pump clicks and the fan makes noise but it’s not unreasonable. I have one in my boat and sleep fine with it running.

It does require 12v power. Draws like 10-12amp on startup for 3-4 minutes with the glow plug and then less than 1amp while running IIRC.

Starts with a push button on the front control panel or by a key fob remote in a line of sight application.

Thanks my main concern with noise is other campers. those are the ones usually complaining about generators and such...

Also, does it use a cig lighter plug for the 12 v wire ? , or ?

edit: looks like the wire is raw so you can hardwire or add a cig plug if desired....

Holy shit...this is cool. From a safety perspective...is there any reason I couldn't build this inside a wooden box in the van? I'm working building a little center console for road trip mode that moves to become a little seat for hang out mode. This would fit inside perfectly...just cut a hole for the out vent?

No reason not to, you do want to be careful with the exhaust. Combustion inside the vehicle is obviously potentially dangerous, and the exhaust will be quite hot, so you can’t just drape it out the door. You want the exhaust to be sealed and the pipe to leave the footprint of the vehicle to minimize CO potential.

I got mine installed this weekend, waiting on a couple fittings for my fuel line/tank but otherwise it’s in! I’m going for a Rotopax-style container mounted on the frame so I can take it on and off for refueling.

Thanks -- so it looks like the all-in-one needs inlet/outlets to vent outside correct? I don't see a way to do that besides cutting a hole in the floor?

Wondering If I could rig a quick connect/disconnect of the vent tubes....

Yes, intake/exhaust need to come from outside. Difficult to do without cutting holes in your rig.

Easiest way is to set the heater outside, then fabricate some kind of vent for your hot air duct only to fit in a cracked window. Shouldn’t be too hard, a 1x project board and a jigsaw should get you most of the way. Wrap the vent in insulation minimize losses and you’re in business.

Yes, exactly right. The easiest is to have the all-in-one heater outside the vehicle and route the heating duct through a window with a plywood insert (easier if your vehicle windows are full frame and not just glass uppers). The downside is then the controls to the heater are outside the vehicle as well and the IR key fob remote won’t work through the glass well or not at all if you have the heater in a weatherproof box. Can’t have it all without cutting exhaust hole in your vehicle.

This dude put together a killer control/vent panel that takes care of all those issues.

seems expensive yes, but not when compared to others. All teardrop types seem crazy expensive for the materials, etc involved

^^^ that's kinda rad, of course, but if I were going to get 5mpg I'd want a lot more space.

The key IME is having a rig that’s so fucking slow (like this 90 Hp example) that you never need to pass anyone on the left.

That van looks awesome. Camper stuff inside (kitchen, furnace, etc), or just normal seating?
