I'd have suggested vodka in the drinking water tank....they're 10 and 12 anyway.

Antifreeze for the holding tanks works pretty good.
We'll be doing this as well this season, but will premix and put in jugs for flushing instead of holding tanks and plumbing.

Longer range, I am looking into this:

Anybody have the lowdown on where I could permanently park a 5th wheel camper in J-Hole for the winter? Obviously I'm willing to pay some for rent/maybe utilities but any suggestions would be much appreciated

    Is that 4x4? That's been a significant obstacle: we'd really like a 4x4.

Nope. It can be for 10K @QuadVan or some mod shop like that. Did you see this, Buster? Might be the biznickles:

Yeah, saw that one; I'm leery of the 8.0L v-10 Ram motor which has a rep for sucking down a lot of gas.

That one ton 4X4 class C is sweet. Buster, all I'm saying is look at it miles/dollar. Diesels are more to buy, more to maintain, diesel costs more. And really...what's the difference 12-18mpg? unless you're willing to pay for a Sprinter.

Had a dream I got laid off and one of the first things that came to mind was this thread and what I would do this winter.

Nice^^^^^ Two winters ago that dream came true for me. I quit work, bought a truck camper and did 20sh ski resorts in 70 days in Wy,Co and Utah plus touring. I guess I should have posted a TR but Gopros and selfie pics are not my thing. Hope your dream come true.

A good buddy of mine owns this, and I can tell you from experience that the shag carpet walls and quilted leather ceiling do little to keep you warm when its 30 below.

Someone scored this FREE short bed cab over camper outside of Sacramento. I jumped on it within 12 hours and it was already gone!

Post on here If anything comes up for a 6 foot bed (I have a Toyota tacoma). It's tougher to find the shorter lengths on the cab-overs.

starting to shop around a little bit for a truckbed camper. no clue where to start. any suggestions on what might be a good model? Realistically probably won't do a ton of winter or cold weather camping, it will see more use in the summer. I'll be putting it in the back of an F250 shortbed.

Damn, too bad you missed out on Derek's rig. Pretty nice rig at a nice price.
