What I’ve learned is that I’m really only in it for short bursts or sleeping. I went with this thinking I’d need the weight capacity for a full slide in but with the market on campers right now - that’s like a decade of season passes. Attachment 380098Attachment 380099
Your build looks awesome. Very slick.

I've got a 5'8" bed, which I think will be fine if I sleep diagonal but needs a little more creativity to get it done. Thinking I'll build some sort of platform so I can still put skis in the bed underneath, maybe sort out the diesel heater, and call it good. Bigger truck with a camper or a van when I've got more space.

Could be less, here's something from a Canadian bank:

Yah my understanding is banks will give you a 20 year note on these RVs and treat them much more like a mortgage than a car loan. Same thing with boats and planes. It’s one of the reasons for crazy inflation in the prices of all of those items.

How are the bigfoot fiberglass trailers? I found a nicely restored late 70's. 16' long 12.5' box. 1500lbs so my 6spd avant should have no problem pulling it in the left lane.

Thanks for this, I have been debating mounting one of these in the sienna but the heater-in-box is an easy sell for next winter.

Bigfoot trailers are well built but that means they are a bit heavier than most. If it is a 2 piece clam shell type construction then unlikely to leak.

Do you think it weights substantially more fully built? 1500lbs seems quite low.

1500lbs does seem light. Got any links to pics? What is a 6spd avant?

Yeah, that's wrong. I have a 5x8 white box cargo trailer that weighs like 900# totally empty. There's no way a 16' travel trailer full of RV equipment weighs 1500#.

1500 may refer to which series. Bigfoot campers have a 2500 series and 1500 series with the 2500 being more insulated, more features, etc.

Nice older guy in my paddling club brought this rig to the annual camp/trip weekend and it’s for sale… 2005 Ford F-250 super duty with the 5.4 V8 and 61,000 miles with the 2005 Lance 845 8’6”. Electrical is setup from the truck to the camper to a charge house batteries from the trucks alternator while driving.. Airbags in the rear suspension of the truck. One owner… he bought them both new. $18,000 for the whole setup. What think the Mags?

You're not going to find anything similar or better for less money. Buy it.

Looks to be a super solid deal for that mileage and usage.
Also been meaning to pm you. I replaced a couple rotted boards in my camper around the water drain hole. I think a fair bit of the musty smell came from that. After i replaced them it still wasnt super fresh. Air it and put one of those kanberra gel containers in and its great now. Musty or not that stuff is just really nice. What i was after after i used all my essential oil mix a few years ago. Ill be continuing to use that kanberra. Really nice smdll. I bought 2 containers so i still have one. Fully recommend. Smells so good and actually works. Thanks for the suggestion on that

Ski RV's, who's sleeping in parking lots?

Spied this yesterday. Seemed like a pretty “pro” setup for those warm nights where you want good ventilation

I slept in my 4 runner in 0 degree weather, and it's not bad at all. The only issue is getting in my zero g ski boots, i i had to stick in a bit water bottle for 10 minutes each, then they are soft enough to put on.
