If you are rich Packsport makes 24" wide rear entry boxes. At any rate you need wider bars so you could add extensions to your existing racks with U bolts and square steel stock.

Electrical advice needed. We have 270 ah and a 2000w inverter. What power induction cooktop should we consider? Maybe a very small microwave too?

We have propane stove for longer cooks but rather save that for the grill and firepit.

A typical 1500 watt induction will burn through your 270 ah very quickly. Stick with propane unless you are plugged into 110 and be sure you have big enough cables from the batteries to the inverter.

There are some companies with narrow ski boxes too. Inno makes one.
See photos of what I'm working with. AC to north/ south track around 13", looks like I could slide bars east/west 5", that might get me 24" total. 3 crossbars in total, back two are adjusted to when I did a test fit for current Yakima Spacecase. I like the Packasport idea and rear access could be advantageous. Maybe I can score a 24" model used.

Thule ProBar? I used to have a set.

How wide are the ones on the van? Google says the widest they come are 79" - - if yours are shorter, a set of longer bars may let you put a box next to the AC.

Brilliant! I need to research the current bar, but these are only 60". I might be able to replace and keep on using my current ski box.

Awesome. FWIW, I thought the ProBar was plenty strong, nice design - - I ended up switching to Yakima HD crossbars and Skyline bases just to get a quick release type base, but I didn't think the ProBar had any drawbacks. I had to trim my ProBar crossbars down a little, and they cut easily with a chop saw, though a hacksaw would do just fine too.

I make ski racks that bolt to the corner jack brackets on slide-ins. Mostly FWC. Doesn’t look like you have corner jack brackets but could still use the same setup.

We could try and figure it out. Depends on how your rear wall is setup overall, and if you have the heating unit attached back there.

Yeah, I have the diesel heater in the aluminum box. I am considering a rack on the side where the shower stall is since we don't use it in the winter, but I think side mounted rack might get dirty AF.

How much road grime do you guys get on them in that spot? My parents ran a hitch-mounted ski rack for a while and that thing murdered skis.

Yeah, too much road salts in the upstates for that rather sturdy looking rack.

Any recs for the 12 volt diesel heaters that China is flooding the market? Planning on Amazon so if it's a lemon I can send it back.

Copy that. We could do the rack on whichever side is opposite the heating unit. If the door opens that way it would likely hit the rack/skis but as long as you’re conscious of it and not flinging it open it open like a madman, it might not be a problem.

They will definitely pick up the road grime. I found it wasn’t much worse than a roof mounted system. Could easily protect the skis with a simple sock style bag if a person was really worried about it.

Gotcha. Our door has a damper hinge on it anyway so it doesnt fling open. Wish i could mount a box vertically on the back but a ski condom would probably be sufficient to keep them clean.

I had Mark at Function before Fashion make us some binding gaiters for longer trips. I really don't care about the skis themselves, they go through way worse on a daily basis on the rocks of CB
