^^^That is an awesome rig - it is almost exactly how I want to build my next one. I drove similar truck for a lot of years and they handle well.
I like this one on saddle tramps - 4 door and making it walk through would be key....as well as having two boxes along camper that you can load skis and gear inClimb the mountains and get their good tidings. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn. - John Muir

Euroland and doesn't have a 4wd, but does have plenty of room and a pretty bomber drivetrain:

Hahaha is that thing a hearse? Awesome. The only problem is those volvo's were the absolutely worst cars in snow. Rear wheel drive snow deathtrap. No wonder they had great sefety systems. Strange how bad they wre in snow being from Sweeden.

Question for the pop-up truck camper folks here: How does the pop-top handle in the cold-cold? Do you keep it down all the time or pop it up and blast the heater?
Cheers!I eat, I sleep, I ski.

When we got our pop-up truck camper, I thought we might use it in winter too. But we haven't at all. Our camper doesn't have a toilet, and only an outside shower, plus I have to winterize the water system anyway. And I took the RV batteries out of it for winter, to store them in the garage (warmer).
It's a 3-season camper for us. The heater works great though, and almost too hot for sleeping -- we set the thermostat really low if it's a cold night (30* or less), and heat rises up to keep the bed area (over cab of truck) plenty warm, even without any extra insulation around the soft walls.

I think the 240 series are great in snow, just have to invest in really, really good snow tires! All-seasons just don't cut it if there is more than a couple snowflakes on the road.

Anybody looking for a class C cheap? I'll be selling an '88 26' Jamboree soon (as soon as the snow melts so I can get it out of my back yard.) I'll post details if anyone's interested. Maggot price applies, of course. I'm near Spokane.

Effing pumped! Just picked up the base vehicle for my GnaRV project. 2000 E350 extended van w/ 7.3 L diesel. I have a line on some axles for the 4x4 swap. Now I just need to get the poptop figured out and I'm into it for 15K and have my own notsosportsmobile. I'll see you in the C-lot at the jane.
