It's true if you got an order in for a '23 before they closed the order bank in Sept. That's definitely stripped down and no Ecoboost, which is fine. After Sept dealers could make stock orders with no price protection for the customer. MSRP went up $1500 and then dealers are free to mark up as they see fit. Those orders won't get built till the customer orders are filled so no guarantees.
Next model year I'm sure $70k will be pretty standard and even more for the Trail model. They reopened the order bank for the new Trail Model only and people are topping $75k for this model year. Factory prices for all Transits have gone up $3-6K from '22 to '23 and any dealer that ends up with one on the lot will mark it up $5-20k.
MSRP for my '23 is $65K, including destination, pretty loaded. T250 9K lb GVWR, AWD, Ecoboost, 4-way factory swivels (cloth), virtual rearview mirror, 360 cam, sync4 with 12" screen, HID, dual 250 amp alternators and dual AGMs. It's also got lane keeping, cross wind assist, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic detection and adaptive cruise, etc. It's around $10k in options.
My 'broker' is out of Kansas City and has a deal with Ford for factory pickup so he's able to waive the $1795 destination fee so I'll be out the door below MSRP at $63k and change. It's a lot of scratch but happy just to be getting one. I'll be flying to KC to pick it up so gotta figure in that cost and gas to get it back to Salt Lake. On top of the savings though, I'll get it sooner because rail transport is still all backed up and people are waiting months for local delivery.

One day I’d like to purchase a used AWD Transit for a non-astronomical price but at this rate it may not be possible until 2030
I put a deposit down on a Winnebago EKKO (built on a 4x4 350 dually Transit cut away chassis) over 9 months ago with an estimated delivery of mid 2023. I thought I was buying a depreciating asset motorhome but I was wrong because they have raised the price twice in the past 9 months. I have the option of cancelling and getting my deposit back as long as it is prior to the commencement of my build. The problem is that all of the equally equiped competition that I have looked at online are even more $$.
Crazy. My 22 AWD high roof was 50k all in. I thought MSRP went up about 4k. My dealer in mont
Montana does not mark up when ordering. No sales tax either. My add ons were running board, cruise, and tint rear glass.
Covid and the working remotely thing really impacted the market. A few years ago a base 2WD transit could be haggled down to $28k, and the 4WD F150 based Quadvan conversion w/ hi lo transfer case started at $12k…$40k for a great platform.
I guess the only silver lining here is I assume the invigorated van market means more competition could appear.
Yeah that pricing would be closer to appealing now - especially after depreciation. I can't drive a huge number of miles, so getting one fresh from the factory seems like a waste. I suppose the upside is that more demand equals way more vans with AWD stock are getting build, which probably means a better used market at some point in the future, even if it is distant.
That's awesome, you got in at the right time!
A friend got a '22 with some nice options for $54K out the door. I tried to order in February '22 and just missed the order bank closing. I thought that was crazy at the time but then the '23 order bank closed in Sept. '22. Got my order in in August. Then it seems only a little more than half the '22s even got built.

The pricing jumps are wild. I have three min school buses that are based on T350HD cutaway chassis, in 2019 the buses were $64k each, all-in. I was hoping to replace with new T350AWD's next year and when I reached out to our Bluebird dealer he said the same setup with the EcoBoost+AWD would run me about $105k each!
I paid $45,600 each for two new T350 AWD, base v6, Medium roof, 15 passenger vans back in march of 2020. No mas...
Byates1,
How does the wind correction/breaking work in crosswind on your rig? Kind of a cool concept.

Something different. These kei trucks can be found with 4wd for under 10 grand. Low on power but could be nice for a very cheap, bare bones camper for a local hill. Or just to have fun puttering around town.
In my Sprinter its seamless so you really can't tell what its doing, if anything, unlike some of the other van controlled driving features that are obnoxious/unsafe enough they must be turned off every time we drive it.
My wife was driving last April (4/20) south of Jackpot, NV towards Wells and we were in 50-70mph crosswinds and she was white knuckled holding on for dear life at 50 mph as I "relaxed" in the passenger seat. Northbound semis made it very interesting. I never felt unsafe as she was really paying attention unlike on the way back through a snowstorm on that same stretch that had me constantly correcting her due to lack of experience.
PSA: 15% off ICECO 12v fridges through 2/15
I haven't hit too much wind thus far believe it or not. I haven't noticed it any auto correct..
Yeah that's correct. If you're gonna go new, I'd highly recommend working with him. Just better odds and zero typical dealer BS. He has more Transit knowledge than anyone and keeps you informed the whole way through. I'd bet he's delivered more consumer ordered Transits than anyone else too. It's been pretty painless so far and I have a build date for later this month.
Used ones are out there for reasonable-ish prices. They're just few and far between and you have to be ready with cash in hand. A friend of mine even lucked out at a local dealer and got an AWD Ecoboost high roof with 40K miles for $42K a couple months ago. I thought it was a pretty good deal considering.

I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Which Ford would you choose?
The trailer attached to the brodozer had a heated living space in it.![]()
I've been trying not to buy Ford because of past experiences but the AWD Transit does seem to be the best van option out there. Forget Sprinters. Damn things are just too finicky and expensive to fix. As far as the trucks though, I'll still avoid Ford. So to answer the question, I guess I'd take the Transit.
Buddy of mine has a similar trailer setup and it seems pretty sweet for camping and sledding.
120k....good price. https://expeditionportal.com/forum/t...lander.237318/
