ain't that hard to drive.... they got a real short wheelbase, so the handle like a big truck. just remember that the front wheels are behind you while driving and adjust your anticipated turning radius accordingly.

how much was the reserve price?

I wonder what maintenance on those things is like? Not that I'm buying, just genuinely curious what keeping one running costs.

Tires alone will run you several thousand, but I’d only bet a dollar it needs a full set.

For a transit agency: $15k minimum for daily transit use, but up to $30k or more depending on area and age of the vehicle.

FWIW: I manage a school fleet and the mechanical work on a transit bus is way more complex. I would only want to drive and park it, permanently, if you’re taking it off their hands

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. When I was looking at their smaller bus, there asked me to look at the big guys as well. In a good year they were getting bids ~2k-5k for them as I understand. Now, they were all "....so do ya have $50 to drive this home??"

If you have a use, I can help facilitate it or ya can contact Benny directly.

since I'm working remote now, and given the cost of accommodations of any kind near skiing, I'm seriously considering doing winter van life. problem is, i'm in a 4runner, so I'd either be adding a trailer, or selling it to pickup a van. wish I would have kept my giant 4x4 E350 I had a couple years ago.

That a beaut of a van with 4x4. If I were 5 foot I’d be all in but 6’3 would make from some cramped camping.

    "Cons:
The 7.3 idi is known for being hard to start when it’s cold (I’m talking 15 degrees or colder). However, this one has a block heater so no big deal. If you camp when it’s 15 degrees, maybe think about a different van, or rethink your life choices."

    not optimal for winter pursuits.

Pricing is coming in around 1200-1400. Would entertain other options.

Yeah and it got sold out from under me. Long story, we told him we wanted it, he said great, got approved for the loan, but he never mentioned that someone else was ahead of us.
