Former Tercel 4x4 SR5 wagon owner here. Pretty much unstoppable but cheaper to maintain? 1000$ CDN to replace a starter in 1991 still sticks in my brain.

Might have just been Elvis' between-scene snack.

According to some accounts there was actually ample fisting at the after-party.

The chickens may have been involved.

But of course, goes without saying. But not as much as Bixby - he's really groovin' on that side boob!

On another front caught this during one of the football broadcasts today...

Looks like a typical day on Highway 80 between Vallejo and Sacramento. I always just called that stretch NASCAR, but I think the Fury Road vibe fits it even better!

I had a regular old 81 Tercel with a 4 speed that was like a snowmobile, so 4X4 would be pretty awesome.

They were awesome. Stuck to the road like glue. Great rally cars on dirt roads, could hold a line in a corner like nobody's business. Ate up snow at high rates of speed. Wagon stoke. Unfortunately they were prone to rust. Badly.

Part 2: Padded Room Special Collection Of Junk That More Than Likely Will Be NSFW

All this old Tercel/Corolla shit sounds like “The older I get, the faster I was”.

I guarantee that if you got in a 81 Tercel on tire technology from the 80s then got in a modern awd car with modern tires you would not think the Tercel was good in the snow.

Was the Tercel your first FWD car?

Not sure what's worse, the ultra vane people in the videos or the overly contrived fake snark commentary videos with the wannabee Howard Stern delivery.

My first car was a 70 roadrunner, which was fast as hell but always would die for a few hours after getting on it. So the always reliable Tercel was my first brand new car and di what i wanted it to do, which was save money so i could buy weed and beer. I always put cheapo tires on it and it was still good in the snow. I'm talking Jersey winters, not serious snow country though. Still, my car zipped through what many other vehicles did not if it was a foot or so of snow.
