Yes...the really expensive ones are handmade, generally, and they don't look as though they should be as expensive as they are.

They're one of the last holdouts. Doesn't make their products any "better" than Fiskars, etc. Good for them tho.

The "standard" 10" dressmaker's shears that I use when sewing (sleeping bags, gear modifications, & clothing repair) cost me about $40, and they're pretty nice. The Ernest Wright & Son ones are ~$80, and I suspect they are quite a bit nicer.
Nice scissors are one of those things that is well worth the extra cost, especially when you consider that they will last you a lifetime, and will be suitable for handing down to your kids. Buy the best, and only cry once.ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.

07-03-2014, 08:08 AM #13869It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

^^^^ Oh what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say "Ni" at will to old ladies. There's a pestilence upon the land, nothing is sacred! Even those who arrange and post ginger porn are under considerable economic stress at this point in time.
Calmer than you dude
