    Notice where the chair is stopped and the hill drops off in front of the spectators. The wind accelerates at that spot. Lots of chairs have this. The last tower or so on Sublette at JH reminds me of this on windy days.

    in comments somewhere it said basically that and what plugboots said. the chairs closer to the lifts had less slack to get popped and twisted so much.
