Agreed nuking shit plastics isn't the best idea. They don't make shit like they used to. We had one like this
https://www.amazon.com/Corning-Ware-.../dp/B006Z91QAS
Corningware. Ceramic. Fucking legit. Fit 6 pieces easy, 8 if you crowded it. All grease is held within, no waste. So unless you have a real hard on for spending 30 minutes in the morning to turn on the over and bake your bacon, you can be done in 5 min and be on your way with bacon that is 95% as good as it can possibly be.Wait, how can we trust this guy^^^ He's clearly not DJSapp

Plasteeq thing is made of very hard material and it is a bitch to make spotless
And... bishpenol-A and BPA outgassing is real so ceramic this in the immediate future:

Cook with cast iron and stainless exclusively (never aluminum - even coated), but bacown with a splatter screen or lid is to time consuming of a clean up. If I'm cooking and plating, the kitchen is clean before I sit.I am not in your hurry

Pro tip - cook the entire pack and refrigerate the rest. You'll have the heavy clean up just once.

I follow that advise... maybe twice a month? Really only cook to make bacon fat
"bacon fat is lower in saturated fat and higher in the good monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats than butter"
"Bacon gat has more riboflavin, niacin and Vitamin B12 than oil"
Very low meat intake and chasing better LDL numbers since I was 40ishLast edited by Gepeto; 05-08-2022 at 09:01 AM.

Re: Plastic/Alu vs Bacon...
This reminds me of the guy my dad saw in my home town after the St Helens eruption dumped massive amounts of ash on us. He was wearing a face-mask (think the 1980's N95 equivalent) while sweeping/shoveling up ash (sand really) outside his house.
He stops, leans on his broom, pulls down his mask, takes out a pack of cigs and lights up.
Wha?!!?
Yup, he avoided an hour or two of particulate exposure. That's good I suppose.
But he likely endured a lifetime of inhaling burned particulates and chemicals *directly* into his lungs from a smoldering trash fire just outside his lips.
It reminds me of something about "the forest for the trees," or something...
I don't got anything against bacon, just seems "interesting."

^^interesting thought. I was in Ellensburg during and after the eruption and we had ash around for a long fucking time. I recall there being discussions of how gnarly that stuff was because it contained so much silica. I wonder if anyone did any tracking of likely ash-related illnesses and deaths in the years following the big event?

I only ate at an Arby's once in my life, but what was flopping on that grey meatform comes to mind. I slammed a couple on a resupply on a through hike and promptly projectile vomited. Same as my Taco Bell and In and Out experiences, 1, done, and puke. I don't do well with processed "food". And I am very puke tolerant. I even shit over a guard rail in SLC on the In and Out. At least it is not fake advertising.

How is it you are puke tolerant if you can't hold down an Arby's classic or In-N-Out Burger?
