Saw one land at King Khalid Military City airbase when it was just the air war going on. It had about 1/4 of one wing shot off and one of the vertical stabilizers was completely gone. Landing gear collapsed about halfway down the runway. Pilot walked away and then collapsed on the ground. Amazing plane.
Great story. I saw they made one two seater variant for training. Did you ever happen to see that?
I love a plane that is engineered around a Gatling Gun.

No, never saw a 2-seat A-10. We sometimes got backseat rides when fighters would visit our base with a 2-seat trainer. Their goal was to make us puke. We would then take them for a ride in the Blackhawk ripping down roads we knew had no wires at 120 knots 5 feet off the pavement. Way more sensation of speed than going mach 1.1 at 30,000 feet. We would then do a cyclic climb to a 1,000 foot hover and shake the cyclic to mimic stall indications and then do a hard bank to a dive. That used to freak them out. Never did a split S for them...nope...that would have been against the rules.
