    HOA's carry substantial insurance policies. It was the HOA's fault. Had they done better bookkeeping, the fact the checks didn't get cashed should have showed up, rather than get buried in the cash on hand tally, which allows for discrepancies to zero out.
    The HOA's insurance will likely go after the accountants' insurance, I'd think. The new owners will negotiate price with and make bank off the insurance companies. Real property with unpaid taxes is sold at auction most places. Only redemption is paying the taxes before the gavel lands.

    Agree completely but with one note, the HOA board I was on years ago was required to have an outside audit yearly by a 3rd party firm. If that is the case here, the audit should have caught the cash discrepancy and the HOA would have recourse depending on terms of the contract. Regardless, the extra cash should have been noticed by the HOA within a few quarters at minimum and reported to the city assessor.

    Not sure about that brand but yeah they exist for a reason. You can simulate it with a HRTF but I think 2 mics at the correct spacing is still better. Especially with the fake ears. Of course the HRTF is slightly different for different people but there are good estimates.

    I wonder what my ears would sound like without cauliflower ear? I guess I've gotten used to it and compensated for it since it happened
