I had an ‘83 Tercel wagon with the compound low and locking differential. It was an awesome off road and snow vehicle…slow as fuck but great mileage. I’d drive one in a heartbeat.

Those early 80's Tercels, IIRC, took 12 inch tires? You could get those goddam things for like $30/ea.
And those fuckers did rust like mad, but goddam they would just go, and go, and go. Really slowly.

Yeah, I remember getting a set of 4 for ~ $125 at Pep Boys. The car itself didn;t rust much, but the friggin exhausts sure did. I must've replaced them 4x in the 12 years i owned it. And I changed the oil every 25k whether it needed it or not. Originally Posted by skaredshtles
