Listened to this series of podcast episodes during recent drives. Interesting story, and one little ironic twist is the guy initially got into the biz trying to offer remote therapy sessions, and now, decades later, the primary advertiser for this podcast is a virtual therapy provider.

I'm really picky about security and have never been hacked in my life. Until now. Granted, I don't buy and sell shit here, and I don't even know what my password is (thanks computer people), But since 2005 I probably have changed my passwords for everything in my life a shitton of times, but not here, why would I give a fuck? Well, Iceman lost his shit, which we are thankful for his lower post count and renewed young approach in life, but, in case, I lost nothing. Or did I?

I got a text from a very close friend that said your shit has been hacked. I was thinking WTF? Honestly, how?

He's on the taco mod squad and was telling me about posting some alpine binders in the morning. We all know me better. Name checks out. Tele mutherfucker. Not a gear swapper. Definitely not a morning person. Get my drift?

But this is fucked. This fucker pm'd and had dialog with a mag under my name talking about the bindings. This person was able to grab my shit and pm people, which I never do, like as much as I click in (never btw), and I could see now, after watching their interaction that this is not a bot, these are people wanting ski shit. It's fucked up.

I spoke to the mods, I was banned quickly and got my shit back (sorry Ice) and replied to the for sale shit telling them it was bunk, but a mag got toasted. To some serious coin.

I say you should never buy shit unless it is pay pal goods and services. No more friends and fam, AND request a phone call and talk to them about the shit. How hard is that? You actually might make a new friend or have a place to crash and vice versa.

I feel really bad about a mag getting torched. But there are just random usernames getting worked every day. TGR has a major security problem. I have never had anything close to a hack. I don't even get spam e-mail, and I don't have a venmo or a credit card. I know it is on their side, but they won't do shit. You know that. Andrew didn't do shit either.

But this is your money. Call the person, ask for a reference. I feel so bad for that mag, but I was locked out and I couldn't do shit.

Thx for the heads-up. My TGR password was one of the weakest in the basket, a throwback to the old days, which I never updated because whatever who cares. The rhythm method of websurfing security. But yeah, now I see the angle, and even here I need to be mindful of basic security.
